The Realtor code of ethics complaint filed by Alderman Dylan Parker against Realtor Ryan Latko (Aledo) last week was dismissed by a Grievance Committee of the Illinois REALTORS® (Springfield, IL). The dismissal means that the committee found no violation of the Code on the basis of the Facebook conversation as Mr. Parker alleged, reported Sharon Carlson CEO, Quad City Area REALTOR® Association.

The Illinois REALTORS® (State REALTOR® Association) is charged with administering the local REALTOR® association's (Quad City Area REALTOR® Association) professional standards issues. "Having the State Association administer Code of Ethics complaints filed against our local REALTORS® gives an impartial tribunal to both the Complainant and Respondent." Ms. Carlson states. "We take these issues and our Members take their oath to uphold the Code of Ethics very seriously. Ethics complaints and their outcomes usually do not take such a public forum but the Complainant Alderman Parker made his complaint very public so the resolution of it should be as public in fairness to both parties."
