Artists Heidi Brandt and Dee Schricker are joining forces with the Beréskin Gallery. Brandt and Schricker will be closing their Boho Chic Gallery in May. Brandt is moving to the Iowa City area and Schricker has decided to spend more time in her studio and exhibiting at area art fairs. Both hope to expand their sales to the Iowa City market. “We have grown so much as artists during our time at Bucktown. It is not only a place to exhibit art but a vibrant community of creative and supportive artists,” Says Brandt. “We worked closely with Pat Bereskin during her time at Bucktown and have continued to partner with her to sell Boho and Beréskin artwork to interior designers. It was an easy decision to also exhibit in her gallery.” Brandt and Schricker have been exhibiting and selling their art at Bucktown Center for the Arts since 2006. They opened their first gallery together with fellow photographer Dee Oberle in 2012. Oberle retired leaving Brandt and Schricker as co owners of the Boho Chic Gallery. They both served on the Midcoast Fine Arts board and are grateful for the experiences and friends made during their time at Bucktown. Bucktown is made possible by support from Midcoast Fine Arts. The two will celebrate their move at a June 23rd reception for landscape artist John Preston. The event will be held at the Beréskin Gallery and Art Academy, 2967 State Street, Bettendorf from 4 to 6 p.m. Schricker and Brandt join twenty full time artists at Beréskin along with rotating guest artist exhibits. The gallery offers classes for all ages and skill levels through the gallery's Art Academy. Their goal is to provide the community a warm and friendly environment conducive to collaboration and learning about art.
