The Ruby Suns So far this week, we've already recorded Royal Bangs and New Zealanders The Ruby Suns, who parked their motor home at West Lake Park for the night, ate some Huckleberry's pizza, and then drove to Chicago to make the long flight home. They were a little worn out when they came to see us, but the tunes turned out well. Everyone should check out their newest Sub Pop record and complain to someone that it's not been released on vinyl.

We're in the process of filling out our August recording schedule and yet oddly enough, September's schedule is already jam-packed. It should be a busy little beehive over here.

We have a big show upcoming this week at the Redstone Room. Our old friends (from the spring anyway, when they visited the studio on their way home from South by Southwest in Austin) Tapes 'n Tapes, will be playing with Driver of the Year and this band - the hottest and most buzzed about band in America and the UK in 2006 - is a killer live band. I hope everyone will do their best to come out and bring people. It will be well worth your time, and we're so close to the school year beginning that it will be good for everyone to get back into the practice of Thursday night being the first night of the weekend!

Also, we have to announce, sadly, that the Tokyo Police Club show scheduled for the end of September had to be canceled due to the band taking a support slot on the upcoming Weezer tour. We're working to get a rain date in place for those guys.

We're looking for some great local talent to open Daytrotter shows. E-mail up a disc to (daytrotter@gmail.com) if you'd like to be considered. - Daytrotter
