DES MOINES, IOWA (October 3, 2022) — The state’s leading small-business political-action committee has endorsed Kim Reynolds for Governor of Iowa.

Gov Reynolds has proven time and again that she is a champion of small business. Just this year, she signed legislation that would lower the personal income-tax rate for small-business owners to a flat 3.9 percent rate by 2026.

“Gov Reynolds has helped Iowa become one of the best places in the nation to run a small business,” said Matt Everson, NFIB State Director in Iowa. “She understands that the key to making sure Main Street mom-and-pop shops stay in business is to lower taxes, get rid of burdensome regulations, and let small-business owners create jobs and reinvest in their community.”

Iowa’s small businesses endured a lot over the past couple years, and are now dealing with inflation, supply-chain disruptions, and worker shortages.

“Thankfully, Gov Reynolds kept Iowa open during the pandemic and helped minimize the damage to the small-business community. She signed important legislation that will help keep Iowans in the workforce and save employers millions of dollars in unemployment taxes. She helped lead Iowa to a $1.91 billion dollar budget surplus in FY 2022 that will help ease the burdens of the current economy. Gov Reynolds is the right person to lead this state and the right person for Iowa’s small businesses.”

NFIB IA PAC supports candidates who are committed to making Iowa a better place to do business. The Governor plays a key role in defending the right of small-business owners to open, operate, and grow their own businesses.

Candidate endorsements are determined by the NFIB IA PAC Board and the nearly 12,000 small-business members from around the state. Candidates are evaluated based on their responses to key small-business issues, as determined by NFIB IA members.

The NFIB IA PAC endorsement is an important gauge to voters across the state that a candidate will stand with small business. Learn more about the Power of the Small Business Voice.
