COAL VALLEY, ILLINOIS (May 22, 2024) — Half of our Zoo Camps are sold out! The only remaining camps are for children ages four to five and six to seven. Zoo Camp 2024 is all about creating conservation connections! Through activities, hands on lessons, and animal experiences, your camper will learn about different animal groups and their survival needs, as well as ideas of what their future can hold. Each day is crafted to enlighten, encourage, and enrich your campers in an education-based summer camp. Join conservation educators this summer to link art, science, and animals.

Each of the five days of Camp will include interactive learning experiences, hands-on activities, special zoo tours, up-close animal encounters, and will be distinctly different for each age group.

Cost

  • Become a Zoo Member before registering and save 20% on Zoo Camp! Member discount is given at the end of the registration process.
  • Ages four to five and six to seven: Five days, ½ day = $120 for Zoo Members, $150 for Non-Members

Scholarships

Thanks to the Mary Lou Ries Education Program Scholarship, thirteen scholarships were awarded to help those who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford to attend camp. As such, much of the fund was expended and need to be refilled to help participants in need.

Age Appropriate

Each Zoo Camp curriculum is designed to be age appropriate to meet the attention, interests, and developmental needs of each age range, therefore it is important that the age guidelines are followed.

Duplicate Sessions

There are two opportunities to attend Zoo Camp. Morning and afternoon sessions are identical so please only register for one session.
