DAVENPORT, IOWA (September 25, 2025) — DIYers are invited to attend a celebration in honor of the new owners and location of the Board and Brush Creative Studio in the Quad Cities. Cameron and Rachel Exline are opening the new studio on October 3 in a larger location a few doors down from the old studio.

The grand opening event will be held on October 4, 8AM-1PM, at the new studio, located at 5169 Utica Ridge Rd in Davenport. Guests will be able to “make and take” a pumpkin for $5 and get free swag.

Attendees will also have a chance to enter to win a free workshop along with other prizes.

Board and Brush workshops are for both experienced DIYers and newbies looking to feel empowered and get in touch with their creative side. The home décor items — signs, trays, porch planters, backyard games, benches, doormats, and more — look professionally made and won’t be relegated to the back of a closet. Bonus that you won’t be making a mess at home.

Cameron Exline is partnering with his wife, Rachel, to run the Board & Brush studio. Cameron will be in the studio full-time serving as the operations manager, while Rachel, who will continue to work full-time in health-care technology, will serve as the strategy lead.

Becoming an entrepreneur was on Cameron’s wish list. One day, while Rachel was in Board and Brush with her mom and sister working on a sign that read, “You and me. We got this,” Rachel had an a-ha moment and took the sign as a sign that she and her husband should become owners of the studio.

“We love doing wood projects together and we like to make each other’s dreams come true,” Rachel shared. “So this is a perfect fit.”

The event is free and open to the public, no RSVP necessary. A few new staff members have been added and some of the existing staff have stayed on. Updates can always be found on the studio’s Facebook page, facebook.com/boardandbrushquadcities. Board and Brush Creative Studio, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2025, was named as one of the Top Franchises Under $100k in the country for 2024 in the annual rankings from Entrepreneur magazine.

All Board and Brush workshops are instructor-led, with attendees guided through the ins and outs of power tools, paint, stencil art, and assembly, with all materials supplied by the studio. Each “Pick Your Project” workshop lasts about three hours and costs $73-$80 depending on needed supplies, with pre-registration required.
