SCOTT COUNTY, IOWA (September 23, 2026) — On Tuesday, September 22, at approximately 6:26PM, the Scott Emergency Communication Center received a 911 call in reference to a motor vehicle accident in the area of S Cody Rd and W Canal Shore Dr in LeClaire, Iowa.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Team was requested and responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.
The initial investigation found that a white 2025 Volvo semi-tractor trailer was traveling south on S Cody Rd towards Riverdale.
At the same time, a white 1993 Honda Civic and a black 2016 Ford Escape were both traveling north on S Cody Rd. This particular stretch of roadway is a paved four lane highway that runs between the city of LeClaire and Riverdale.
For reasons unknown at this time, the tractor trailer and the white Honda collided and the white Honda briefly went under the trailer of the semi.
The black Ford then collided with the semi and came to rest against the east guardrail.
The driver and sole occupant of the semi was identified as a 44-year-old male from Davenport, Florida.
The driver and sole occupant of the Honda was identified as an eighteen-year-old female of LeClaire, Iowa.
The driver of the Ford was identified as a 32-year-old female from LeClaire, Iowa.
There were also three children inside the Ford at the time of the accident.
The semi driver was uninjured and refused medical treatment at the scene.
The driver of the Honda was transported by AirCare to the University of Iowa City Hospitals and is in critical condition.
The three children in the Ford were all transported to the hospital by Medic ambulance and were ultimately all taken to the University of Iowa City Hospitals in critical condition.
The driver of the Ford was pronounced deceased at the scene.
This case remain under investigation and no names will be released until next of kin notifications have been made.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office, Scott Emergency Communications Center, Scott County Medic EMS, Iowa State Patrol, LeClaire Police Department, LeClaire Fire Department, Highway Helper, Bettendorf Police Department, Bettendorf Fire Department, Prineton Police Department, AirCare, and Medforce, all assisted with the accident.The accident remains under investigation by the Scott County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Team.

In reference to the motor vehicle accident that occurred last evening in the area of S Cody Rd and W Canal Shore Dr in LeClaire, Iowa.
The driver of the semi has been identified as 44-year old Martial Wilkerson.
The driver of the Honda Civic has been identified as eighteen-year-old Autumn Hajny, and the driver of the Ford who was pronounced deceased on scene, has been identified as 32-year-old Moriah Rosa.
The driver of the Honda remains in the hospital in stable condition.
The three children that were passengers in the Ford ranging from age two to nine remain in the hospital in critical condition.
This case remains under investigation by the Scott County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Team as well as the Iowa State Patrol Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division.
