SCOTT COUNTY, IOWA (October 28, 2026) — The Scott County Sheriff’s Office conducted a sex offender compliance sweep October 25–27, verifying the residence and compliance of registered sex offenders throughout Scott County. Scott County currently has 541 registered sex offenders. During the three-day operation, local law enforcement called out 742 checks. Out of those checks, 493 offenders were located and confirmed compliant.

Five arrests were made for sex offender registry violations or outstanding warrants.

Fourteen individuals were identified as non-compliant. The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division will conduct follow-up investigations and request warrants for those violations.

Twenty-nine additional follow-up checks are scheduled to be conducted this week.

This will be a 96% compliance rate for this year’s sweep.

To date, the Sheriff's Office has conducted a total of 1,185 sex offender compliance checks in 2026.

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office thanks the following agencies and personnel for their assistance and participation in this year’s operation: Iowa Department of Public Safety, Division of Criminal Investigation; US Marshals Service; Iowa State Patrol; Davenport Police Department, Bettendorf Police Department; Iowa Department of Corrections, High Risk Unit Scott County Sheriff’s Office Reserves, Princeton Police Department, Walcott Police Department; and the Scott Emergency Communications Center.

These collaborative efforts help law enforcement verify registry information, identify potential violations, and promote public safety throughout Scott County.
