Illinois Improving Training to Combat Hate Crime for State Police Cadets

CHICAGO – Governor Bruce Rauner today announced the next steps to comprehensive plan to combat hate crimes in Illinois through improved training of law enforcement.

As directed by the Governor last month, Illinois State Police worked with the Anti-Defamation League to create a new curriculum for Illinois State Police Cadets to better identify, investigate and prosecute hate crimes.

COMMISSION FACILITIES OPEN GOOD FRIDAY, CLOSED SATURDAY

DAVENPORT, IA—Waste Commission of Scott County facilities will be open regular hours on Good Friday, April 14, and closed on Saturday, April 15, for the Easter holiday. Normal hours of operation will resume on Monday, April 17. Waste Commission of Scott County’s facilities include the following:

Is Davenport a Sanctuary City

Davenport may soon have to certify to the federal government that it is not a sanctuary city to continue to qualify for federal funding. If a majority vote of the city Council certifies Davenport is not a sanctuary city and later a federal investigation legally finds Davenport is a sanctuary city because its police force does not actively detain, arrest, impound the cars, and turn over to the County Sheriff unlicensed, uninsured drivers for an ICE deportation hearing.

City of Davenport will observe Good Friday as a holiday on Friday, April 14, 2017.

All City of Davenport offices & Public Works Center will be closed.

Police Department front desk and records office will be closed.

Library Main, Fairmount and Eastern branches will be closed.

Parks & Recreation administrative offices will be closed.

River’s Edge will be open from 7am – 10:00pm, front desk will be open from 7am – 7pm.
