In this second book in the series, Sammy & Robert's Animal Adventures, there are two stories. The stories are written in the same fun, rhyming way as the first story. These stories are longer and there are more illustrations. Sammy & Robert Visit A Farm will teach children about farm animals, their babies, their pens, foods they eat, and sounds they make. Sammy & Robert Visit A Zoo will teach children about some mammals as well as herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores. Educators and caretakers of children, grandparents and parents, and even children themselves will enjoy hearing or reading the Sammy & Robert stories.

Darcie Mae lives happily with her husband in Solon, Maine. She continues to write and draw any time she can. She is also enjoying sharing and reading her books with children. Look not only for her Sammy & Robert children's books, but her Mother Mouse children's books as well.

Federated Music Teacher's Association is holding the 25th Annual Baroque Competition. The 2008 Baroque Competition Finals will be held at FOSTER FAMILY MUSIC in Bettendorf on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 6. Elementary and Intermediate performances will be in the morning and the senior performance in the afternoon. The competition is open to the public. Refreshments will be served after each age group's competition.

Federated Music Teacher's Association is the local chapter of The National Federation of Music Clubs, an organization designed to promote study and stimulate interest in American and world music literature, and to encourage each participant to reach a high standard of musical achievement. The Baroque Competition was started 25 years ago by Richard Patterson & LaVonna Kiesele Bartlett, members of our local chapter to promote the study of baroque piano music.

Forty-five finalists will be chosen by recorded audition, judged by the University of Iowa pedagogy class under the direction of Dr. Alan Huckleberry. At the finals on December 6th fifteen students in each division will perform two pieces, one from the baroque period and one from a contrasting period of music. Our judge Dr. Rene Lecuona, from the University of Iowa will choose 1st through 5th place winners, who will receive trophies, cash and prizes from local sponsors. These are some young, talented, hard-working, local pianists. Let's celebrate and champion their achievements!

Chrash is constantly at work banging out riffs in their practice space
right next door to Future Appletree Studio One (home of local heroes Daytrotter).
Maybe that is why they just put another new full length album.  November 29th at
RIBCO will be Chrash's local record release show for their new LP "The Name They Change".

Also performing that night will be <a href="http://www.myspace.com/methspace">Meth and Goats</a>
Meth and Goats hail from Moline they will bring
their spastic beats and heavy poundings to your ears.
This is their first local show since June

Opening the evening is a special performance by
<a href="http://www.myspace.com/idpyramid">Id Pyramid</a> (featuring <a href="http://www.myspace.com/centaurnoir">Centaur Noir</a>).
Two seperate music projects from Dennis and Jon of Meth and Goats combine in audio bliss
to form one musical force.  Jon will play on Dennis' songs and Dennis will play on Jon's songs
