Mississippi Valley Blues Society Announces Artists for Blues Fest 2023

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 10, 2023) — The Mississippi Valley Blues Society (MVBS) will once again hold the annual Blues Fest, September 15-16 on the banks of the Mississippi in beautiful and historic LeClaire Park, Davenport, Iowa. Following a successful 2022 Blues Fest, “We’re staying put in LeClaire Park,” said MVBS President, Kim Whitaker, “This is our home port, and people love the experience of Blues artists performing here, as do the artists.”

Augustana Students Perform Maurice Duruflé's "Requiem, Op 9"

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 2, 2023) -- The Augustana Oratorio Society, Augustana Choir, Augustana Choral Artists and Augustana Symphony Orchestra are joining together to perform Maurice Duruflé's "Requiem, Op 9" and other choral works by French, English, and Brazilian composers. Jon Hurty and Ernesto Estigarribia will conduct the performance. The performance is May 7, 3PM, in Centennial Hall, 3703 7th Ave, Rock Island.

Nathan Cowan to Perform for May 14 Sandburg Songbag Concert in Galesburg

GALESBURG, ILLINOIS (April 27, 2023) — The 2023 Carl Sandburg Songbag Concert Series continues Sunday, May 14, with singer, songwriter and guitarist Nathan Cowan performing at the Carl Sandburg State Historic Site in Galesburg.

Formerly of Harvest Sons and The Dirty Loew, Cowan recently embarked on a solo career. His set will feature original songs along with tunes by other artists.

This first concert is Friday, April 28, at the Hilltop Drop, 1514 N Harrison St, Davenport. Doors open at 7PM for ages 21 and up. Cost is a freewill donation at the door.
