DES MOINES, IOWA (June 22, 2022) — Governor Kim Reynolds has signed the following three bills into law:

DES MOINES, IOWA (June 21, 2022) — Governor Kim Reynolds announced the appointment of James “JC” Risewick to the Iowa Board of Regents, effective today, following the vacancy with the passing of Milt Dakovich in February 2022.

Risewick serves as the President and COO of Seneca Companies in Des Moines, where he’s served in several roles in the past fifteen years. Risewick volunteers through ChildServe and Impact Iowa’s Heroes and was named Forty Under 40 in the class of 2014.

DES MOINES, IOWA (June 17, 2022) — Governor Kim Reynolds released the following statement today in response to the Iowa Supreme Court’s abortion ruling:

“Today’s ruling is a significant victory in our fight to protect the unborn. The Iowa Supreme Court reversed its earlier 2018 decision, which made Iowa the most abortion-friendly state in the country. Every life is sacred and should be protected, and as long as I’m governor that is exactly what I will do.”

DUBUQUE, IOWA (June 16, 2022) — While attending the Association of Business and Industry’s Annual Convention in Dubuque, Governor Kim Reynolds signed several workforce bills into law, including the reduction of the maximum number of weeks eligible for unemployment benefits from 26 weeks to sixteen weeks, adjustments to child-care ratios and age-requirements for child-care employees, and several licensing-reform changes.
