HUNTINGTON, IN (05/08/2013)(readMedia)-- The 42nd annual Huntington University Forester Night celebrated the accomplishments of students from across campus, as well as the recognition of the Foresters of the Year, the 2013 Outstanding Scholar Award, the Impact Initiative Scholarship and the Professor of the Year. The event was held May 7.

Valerie Van Ee, a senior computer science and digital media animation major from Eldridge, IA, was honored with the Outstanding Senior Award for Computer Science. The Outstanding Senior Awards are voted on by faculty. Recipients were presented plaques for their accomplishments at Forester Night.

HUNTINGTON, IN (03/28/2013)(readMedia)-- The talented work of Valerie Van Ee of Eldridge, IA, will be on display in the Robert E. Wilson Gallery in the Merillat Centre for the Arts at Huntington University from April 15-23.

The exhibit will feature films, animations and other projects from the graduating seniors.

Van Ee is a senior Animation and Computer Science major.

An artist reception will be held at 6 p.m. April 20 to honor the seniors. The public is invited to attend.

The Wilson Gallery is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., before and after all Merillat Centre performances and by appointment. The gallery is free and open to the public.

HUNTINGTON, IN (11/01/2012)(readMedia)-- Valerie Van Ee of Eldridge, IA, was inducted into the Indiana Beta Chapter of Alpha Chi during a convocation held Oct. 31. Membership in Alpha Chi is the highest academic honor at Huntington University and represents both a recognition of scholastic achievement and a commitment to promoting academic excellence and integrity on and off campus as well as service.

The Indiana Beta Chapter of Alpha Chi National College Honor Scholarship Society was established in 1967 and is one of more than 300 chapters in Alpha Chi. It is active in the regional and national activities of Alpha Chi and was named the National Chapter of the Year in 2001. This year, for the 17th consecutive year, The Indiana Beta Chapter was selected as a Star Chapter of Alpha Chi. It is one of four chapters to have received this award every year since its inception in 1996.
