USDA Rural Development Invests $3.6 Million to Support Small Business Projects and Improve Emergency Services in Rural Iowa

DES MOINES, IOWA (December 4, 2025) — The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Deputy State Director in Iowa Henry Kummerer has announced that the Agency is investing in six projects in Iowa including three loans totaling $3,000,000 and three grants totaling $683,333. Five of the projects support small-business expansion and one project will improve fire and emergency service.

DES MOINES, IOWA (August 28, 2023) — US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development State Director in Iowa Theresa Greenfield today announced that the Agency is investing $13,435,000 in loans and $2,946,000 in grants to five projects in Iowa to strengthen infrastructure, promote business expansion and create jobs.

WASHINGTON DC (August 23, 2023) — The US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) today announced $72.9 million awarded to 55 states and territories through the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program (SCBGP). The grant program provides funding to enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops and support specialty-crop growers through marketing, education, and research.
