Benefit for Danielle Parise

Many items will be up for silent auction(bidding from 6-9pm) and donations accepted to help this beautiful family with medical and other expenses!

Danielle and Matt are high school sweethearts who are deeply connected and always loving and supportive of one another. Matt is the kind of person who uplifts everyone he comes in contact with by making them laugh. Danielle overflows with compassion for others, which has led her down the path to becoming a nurse.

On January 30th, Danielle suffered a cerebral arteriovenous malformation (AVM) rupture. She was immediately taken to the University of Iowa Hospital for neurosurgery to relieve pressure to her brain and stop blood flow to the AVM. Danielle has started responding to requests to move her toes, fingers and even gave a "thumbs up". She has a lengthy recovery process ahead and any support by way of donations, thoughts, and prayers are greatly appreciated!

Sept. 7th and 21st 6:30-9pm -Open Mic Night - Come on down and hear some great local talent performing their favorite songs.  Or come share some of what you have been working on with us.  All acts welcome, PA provided.

Sept. 3rd Friday, 6:30-9pm Lee Blackmon. Come sing along with Lee as he performs classic hits we all know and love! Lee is a great musician and friend of the coffeehouse- Come enjoy a great night of family fun!

Sept. 6th Monday- Rock Island Labor Day Parade. Join Cool Beanz for the parade and visit us afterwards for an afternoon of holiday fun!

Sept. 15th Wednesday 7-9pm Melissa Greener. Melissa has been a professional singer song writer on tour to promote her latest album Dwelling. Her style is an intriguing blend of energetic folk and soul music.

Sept. 17th Friday, 6-9pm Nashville Songwriters Association. Come listen to songwriters perform homegrown music and reveal what sparked the song genesis... Songwriters are all are welcome to perform and original song or two.

Sept.18th Saturday- Kiwanis-A.D. Heusing Pepsi Bags Tournament. Cool Beanz is a sponsor of the Rock Island Kiwanis second annual bags tournament! Come join us for a day of fun games, music, and refreshments at the new Schwiebert Riverfront Park- (Ask our baristas how to get in the tournament!)

Sept. 18th Saturday, 6-8pm Emily Jawoisz. This singer/pianist belts out soulful jazz and rock, sure to make your evening.  This will be Emily's fourth Cool Beanz show and if this time is anything like the last you won't be disappointed.

Sept. 24th Friday, 7-9pm Jeff Chin. Augustana senior Jeff Chin has graced the Cool Beanz stage with former band On Distant Shores- We are excited to have him back for his first Cool Beanz solo performance. Singing covers and originals, this should be a great event for both community and Augie members alike!

Sept. 25th Saturday, 7-9:30pm Bluegrass @ The Beanz. The last Saturday of every month?A foot-stomping evening of bluegrass and old time music featuring The Leftovers, fun for all ages.

Live Music in May At Cool Beanz Coffeehouse

Wednesday May 6th: On Distant Shores. 7:30-9pm

An alternative, pop-punk group from Augustana. They have a great set of covers and originals that keeps the house rockin'. This will also be the band's last show ever, so it will be a great one!

Friday May 7th: String Quartet (not your average)! 7-8pm

A group of talented Augie students that are playing classic rock like the Beatles with very classical instruments!

Saturday May 8th: Teenage. 6:30-7:30pm

This Quad Cities trio plays "dreamy folk-pop" and their feel good vibe compliments the Cool Beanz atmosphere perfectly!

Saturday May 15th: The Tangents. 7:30-9pm

Back for a second show! Join Keith Hentrich and Deb O'Malley for soft classic rock - a great evening with family and friends!

Thursday May 20th: Retro Ron. 7-9pm.

After listening to this acoustic act during open mic night, Cool Beanz had to have him come play his own show! A perfect example of quad city talent, playing the Beatles, Moody Blues, Harry Chapin, Jim Croce and many more!

Friday May 21st: Emily Jawoisz. 7:30-9:30pm

This Quad City girl knows how to belt out jazzy emotion while playing along on her piano. Come enjoy great coffee while listening to this Quad City favorite!

Saturday May 22nd: This and That. 7:30-9:30pm.

Susan McPeters and Jonathan Turner will play a great mix of jazz, blues, and standards from the 20's/30's as well as some Billy Joel, Elton John and Paul Simon.

Saturday May 29th: Bluegrass at Beanz - 7-9pm

Last Saturday of EVERY month- Cool Beanz is having bluegrass! Presenting "Tennessee" Tony Cavitt, Dave Maxwell and Friends for a toe-tapping evening of Bluegrass and Old Time music!
