FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DAVENPORT - Strike up the band! The Quad City Wind Ensemble will hold an open rehearsal at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 24th in Madsen Hall in the Galvin Fine Arts Building at St. Ambrose University, 518 West Locust Street in Davenport, IA.  Area musicians interested in joining the Quad City Wind Ensemble are invited to attend the open rehearsal, meet our director and members, and participate in our first rehearsal of the 2008-2009 season.

Dr. Charles B. DCamp, then director of bands at St. Ambrose University, formed the Quad City Wind Ensemble in 1987 in conjunction with a small group of highly motivated musicians.  Today it is one of the finest ensembles of its kind in the country, comprised of the area's finest wind and percussion players who audition for membership in this select group. The Quad City Wind Ensemble performs three concerts each year and hosts the annual Quad City Wind Ensemble Young Performer's Solo Competition in the spring.
