20 Year Anniversary-Terrorists Bomb WTC in 1993

20 years ago, terrorists first attacked the World Trade Center in New York City. It was not the first time terrorists had attacked American targets, nor would it be the last, but it was a pivotal moment in the War on Terror that we must NEVER FORGET.

The attack was organized by Khaled Sheikh Mohammed and fellow jihadist conspirators who detonated a truck bomb armed with over 1,340 lbs. of explosives in the lower garage levels in an attempt to knock  the North Tower (Tower 1) into the South Tower (Tower 2), destroying both towers and murdering the thousands of innocent people inside. Though the terrorists failed that day, six innocent people were killed and over a thousand more injured. Many more could have been killed.

The murderers who perpetrated this first attack are the same radical jihadists who our troops are still fighting today. Today, please take a moment to remember and pray for those innocent people who lost their lives in terrorist attacks.

Despite attacks like this one in 1993, and similar attacks like the bombing of the Marine barracks in 1982, the USS Cole in 2000, and many other provocations, America really did not take the War on Terror seriously until after 9/11. It took an enormous and tragic loss of life for the sleeping giant of America to finally wake up and realize that we are in a war for survival against radical Islam.

After 9/11, President George W. Bush finally mobilized the full might of the US military to go after the terrorists wherever they hide, so that our country never lets our guard down again. We must NEVER FORGET attacks like the first WTC in 1993, because those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. Never forget about the terrorists and their ambitions to destroy our country and our way of life, or our troops who are fighting on the front lines protecting us.

On this anniversary of one of the most famous terrorist attacks in the history of the War on Terror, send some support to our Marines on the front lines fighting the terrorists!

President Obama's nominee to be Secretary of Defense, Chuck Hagel, failed miserably when faced with hard questions from the Senate Armed Forces Committee today. He could not, or refused to, answer for his past anti-Israel and seemingly pro-Iran positions. Instead he only offered confirmation that he should not be the Secretary of Defense.

Today's hearing proved without a doubt we must stop Hagel from being our next Secretary of Defense.

Hagel Calls Ahmadinejad's Government "elected, legitimate."

Hagel was trying to defend his refusal to vote to label the Iranian Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organization. In doing so he called Iran several times as an "elected, legitimate government," and again said the Iranian regime was a "legitimate, independent government."

It was a slip or he wasn't thinking, but it shows his disposition towards Iran that we have disturbingly seen several times. It is outrageous to legitimize a government led by a madman like Ahmadinejad, who has publicly denied the holocaust ever occurred, and called for the state of Israel to be "wiped off the map."

If Hagel thinks that kind of conduct passes as 'legitimate government' then we'd hate to see how he would react as an ambassador of American interests abroad.

Hagel Agreed, in 2009 Interview, America is "the World's Bully"

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) literally blew Hagel out of the water when he played a very damning quote of Hagel conducting a 2009 interview on Al-Jazeera News wherein Hagel AGREED WITH an e-mailed comment from a woman who identified the United States as "the World's Bully."

Cruz played the soundbyte for the whole committee and all attendees to hear for themselves:

SUPERBOWL XLVII is less than two weeks away and MAF is bringing back our annual SUPERBOWL challenge to all of our pro-troops supporters. This year's Superbowl Championship will be played between the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens.

We want to see which team has more fans out there who are excited to donate and support our troops fighting in Afghanistan. The team who sponsors more care packages for the troops will win!

Last year, the Superbowl was played between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots. During last year's Superbowl challenge, we had more Giants fans sponsor care packages than Pats fans, and sure enough when game day came the Giants beat the Patriots in Superbowl XLVI.

So who will win this year, the 49ers or the Ravens? Will your donations accurately predict the outcome of the game again?

To support your favorite team, click one of the links below and sponsor a care package for our troops in Afghanistan full of goodies that the troops will love!

If you went to check right now at rushlimbaugh.com you would see "From Melanie Morgan at Move America Forward" at the top of the page. Rush Limbaugh has noticed our plight after care packages intended for the troops were stolen just days ago.

Rush has always been a big supporter of the troops, and of Move America Forward as one of the premiere organizations out there providing support for the men and women on the front lines. He's also been a huge supporter of other troop-support groups such as the Marine Corps - Law Enforcement Foundation. Rush has helped us every year by appearing on our Troopathon event which we broadcast every summer.

Having support from Rush to help us recover from this unfortunate crime is an amazing benefit for MAF as well as our troops in Afghanistan. Thank you Rush!

If you haven't already heard, Grinches tried to ruin Christmas for some of our brave troops in Afghanistan, stealing already packed and ready to deliver care packages in the dark of the night. But thanks to public outcry and the overwhelming generosity of everyday Americans like you, we are making up for the stolen care packages and working on another shipment as we speak.

There are only 6 days left until Christmas. Our brave men and women in Afghanistan need your support.

Our fine troops overseas deserve a big congratulations on the great work they are doing for our sake. U.S. Troops in Afghanistan continue to fight the Taliban while training and working with Afghanistan's emerging Army and police forces to eventually take over security responsibilities for their own neighborhoods.

"The number of U.S. deaths in Afghanistan is on track to decline sharply this year, reflecting the drawdown in U.S. forces and an expanded Afghan army that is playing a larger role in fighting the Taliban.

This year, 301 Americans have died in Afghanistan, down from a peak of 500 American deaths in 2010, a USA Today database shows. It is the second consecutive yearly drop.

"A year ago we were taking larger amounts of casualties than they were," said Marine Maj. Gen. Charles "Mark" Gurganus, referring to Afghan security forces in the former Taliban stronghold of Helmand region in southern Afghanistan. "It is absolutely 180 (degrees) out now," said Gurganus, head of Regional Command Southwest."

For just a small donation, you can send our troops in Afghanistan a box filled to the brim with goodies and supplies they can USE to help make their deployment a little easier. Sponsor a Christmas and Holiday Care Package today!

We're always getting letters back from the troops thanking our donors for the generous packages. Some letters we get back are almost sad in a way, as some troops reveal that the packages they receive through Move America Forward donors are the only mail they receive all year long.

Can you imagine spending 9-12 months deployed in a foreign land and never once receiving anything so much as a letter from home to see how you're doing? Imagine how great, then, it would feel to know that some stranger back home, who has never even met you, took the time and care to think about you and send a care package full of goodies your way!

Today is the 71st anniversary of Pearl Harbor. More than 2000 Veterans and their families gathered at Pearl Harbor for a moment of silence at 7:55 A.M. this morning, the exact time that the first bombs hit 71 years ago. The solemn moment of silence and respect was signaled by the USS Michael Murphy, named after the Pearl Harbor-based Navy SEAL killed in Afghanistan. The men and women of the Greatest Generation earned their name after the horrific and cowardly attack on Pearl Harbor during the morning hours of Dec. 7, 1941. Those brave Americans rose to the occasion and restored freedom and order to the world.

As we remember the surprise attacks by the Japanese that led to so many American lives being lost and launched United States into World War II, it's hard not to remember the more recent events where we were attacked on September 11th. As FDR described the attack on Pearl Harbor, 9/11 is a date which will live in infamy.

Today, the NEXT Greatest Generation is now on the ground, in the seas, and in the air fighting Muslim Jihadists who brought war to America's homeland on Sept. 11, 2001. Scores upon scores of patriotic men and women joined the Armed Forces after September 11th, and fought in Iraq and Afghanistan. They have sacrificed their lives, just as our troops did in World War II.

We must never forget. We must give thanks to our fighting Armed Forces. Sponsor a special Christmas themed care package today.

Every care package is personalized with a special note from you, and is full of the items our troops want. Coffee, cookies, and Christmas goodies!!

After Pearl Harbor, and again after 9/11, our troops fought fiercely to destroy enemies who threaten America. The cost of freedom is never cheap, it is paid for by the sacrifice of many brave young men and women who pay the ultimate price for our freedom. We must remain eternally grateful and show our appreciation to those who risk their lives every day.

It has been a long and difficult road for our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan; they have fought so hard and sacrificed so much, but in that sacrifice they have won many stunning victories, and accomplished things they were told could not be done. For that we are grateful and blessed to live in a nation protected by such courageous individuals. Please remember those troops today, and offer your support.

While many members of our military have supportive and loving familiessome do not and are not expecting anything during the holidays.

We've heard over and over again from military men and women that the care package they received from us was the only piece of mail or support they have received. It really makes a huge difference to them.

In addition to all the items that receive the most important is the personalized thank you from the donor. It's these kind words that mean the most, and you can share to make some member of the military know how much we support and appreciate their sacrifice.

Please help us send a care packages now to bring a little holiday cheer to our brave men and women overseas.Your care package could be the only mail they get all year.

These brave men and women are risking their lives thousands of miles away from home to keep us safe and deserve every bit of support and thanks that we can send.

We hear time and time again from our military care package recipients how much they appreciate our care packages and how much it means to them to know that people from back home took the time to think of them - it makes their day, week, and even month!

Don't forget, as we come to the close of the tax year, all care package contributions are tax-deductible, since Move America Forward is an IRS recognized not-for-profit organization.
