FOOTGOLF AT RED HAWK GOLF AND LEARNING CENTER

Davenport Parks & Recreation is announcing that FootGolf is now available at Red Hawk Golf & Learning Center.  Players of both Soccer and Golf will get a kick out of Iowa's first and only American FootGolf League's accredited course, while also spending time in fresh air on a well-manicured course.

On Saturday June 21st, Davenport Parks & Recreation entertained 137 participants to an inaugural FootGolf Event. The majority of participants indicated this was their first visit to a Davenport Golf Course. We hope this activity adds to the many recreational opportunities for the Davenport and surrounding community.

Traditional golf play is not affected, impeded or limited on a daily basis. The two activities are arranged to play simultaneously throughout the regular business day.  Monthly Social Events and weekly specials will be offered soon.  For tee time information, contact the Red Hawk Golf & Learning Center. Davenport Parks and Recreation hopes to see you on the course.

Junior Golf League 2014

Emeis and Red Hawk Golf Courses are signing up junior boys and girls ages 8-13 for teams in the PG A Junior Golf League.

They will compete against teams from Glynn's Creek, Palmer Hills and Geneva Country Club in Muscatine. This will be a low pressure match play competition and all kids will play in each match. All juniors will receive a uniform, two lessons plus other items. There will be a parents informational meeting at 4:30 Sunday June 1st at the Red Hawk Club House.

Military Appreciation Week, May 10-17, at Davenport Public Golf Courses

Davenport Public Golf Courses will provide free green fees to anyone with a military ID from May 10 - 17, 2014, as a kickoff for Military Appreciation Week in the Quad Cities. The free green fees apply to the three public courses in Davenport - Emeis, Duck  Creek, and Red Hawk.

"It's our way of honoring the service men and women of our country," said Troy Evans, Superintendent Revenue Facilities at Davenport Parks and Recreation.  "We hope that the military members of the Quad Cities take full advantage of our three great golf courses".

Military Appreciation Week began in 2008 and is a Quad City wide event created to salute our military personnel and show community support for the military installations in the area.

Anyone interested in taking advantage of this golf special should book tee times and bring their military ID to the Davenport Public Courses listed above.

Fejervary Learning Center Opens on Earth Day!

Opens Earth Day!

Tuesday, April 22 - 10am - 2pm and 5pm - 7pm

Fejervary Learning Center will open for the season on April 22, 2014.

Opening hours are 10am-2pm and 5pm-7pm.  Admission is free.

For opening day, we will have crafts and reading time by mother goose.  Explore the natural playground by digging for fossils, build a fort, make some music and much more. In the evening will have the model train running for all to enjoy. Come see the new additions to the train garden. A great place for kids to have fun and experience nature!

Skate and Hunger Drive at River's Edge!

Beginning this weekend and continuing for every weekend in February, you'll get free admission for public skate for every can of food donated to the Quad Cities Student Hunger Drive.
Just bring down one can of food to the River's Edge during Public Skate, and earn one admission.  You can enter in a raffle for some great prizes as well!
Our Public Skate Hours this weekend are:

Sunday, February 23 at 5:30 pm at the River Center in downtown Davenport.
This is a fantastic time for Dad's to spend with their daughter's.  It is a wonderful event to have some quality time spent having fun, dressing up, and dancing. Couples will be treated to a dinner buffet, crafts, dancing, and a chance to win prizes.  A professional photographer will be available to take couple's photos. Dads can be uncles, grandpas, step-fathers.  Sign up today for this special event!
