AMANA, Iowa- Break out your winter coat and join us for Winterfest in the Historic Amana Colonies. There is an authentic experience waiting for all ages during this seasonal celebration; music, winter games and FUN!

Embrace the winter season on January 23rd with fun for the whole family! The Freezer 5k Run/Walk begins at 8:30am, followed by a full day of activities. Activities include Ice Sculpting, Law Sawing, Ice Skating and the traditional Nagelhauen and The Great Amana Ham Put.

RETURNING THIS YEAR- A 10-hole miniature golf course located in the Festhalle Barn. Challenge your putting skills with fun for the whole family.

RETURNING THIS YEAR- The Winterfest Wine and Beer Walk. Take a break from the outdoors and warm up while you sample locally made wines and beers throughout town.

Live music and dinner at the Snowball dance, held at Millstream Brewery, music provided by Rider Company. No charge for the band. Dinner will be available at an additional cost.

Tannenbaum Forest Opens in the Amana Colonies - November 27-December 20, weekdays by appointment

AMANA, Iowa- Tannenbaum Forest in the Historic Amana Colonies. There is an authentic experience waiting for all ages during this holiday celebration, music, holiday goodies and FUN!

Welcome the winter season on November 27, with the Tannenbaum Forest opening ceremony at 5:30pm. This year's forest will feature Santa, St. Nick's Café, Reindeer, carolers, children's corner and gingerbread houses. Travel through our Forest and see over 40 Christmas trees, decorated by local businesses. A free-will donation of $3.00 is encouraged. Proceeds of the forest benefit The University of Iowa Children's Hospital.

Live performances in the Festhalle Barn featuring the Cindy Shadrick Voice Studio, will continue throughout the duration of the Tannenbaum Forest.

The Amana Colonies Celebrate the 30th Prelude to Christmas December 4-6, and Children's Music Weekend December 11-13.

The Tannenbaum Forest is open, weather permitting, each weekend November 27-December 20, with weekday openings available by appointment.

Prelude to Christmas will kick off Friday, December 4th with weekend-long special events around the Seven Villages. Shop your way through our candle lit streets, and visit the Church Bazaar and Cookie Walk for a special one of a kind treat. See the Amana Heritage Museum's "A Glimpse of Christmas Past" to see how Christmas was celebrated during the Amana Colonies' communal times.

Our Tannenbaum Forest will feature over 40 Christmas trees, decorated by local businesses. Bid on your favorite holiday gift basket filled with specialty items from our shops while you listen to Christmas carols.  Don't forget to visit with Santa's and give him your Christmas list. Admittance to Tannenbaum Forest is free; a free-will donation is encouraged. Proceeds benefit the University of Iowa Children's Hospital.

AMANA, Iowa- Join us in the Historical Amana Colonies for Rhubarb Day, Saturday June 6, 2015, for all that is Rhubarb! There's a unique, hands on experience waiting for all ages during this first annual rhubarb celebration! Great food, music and FUN!

Rhubarb Day kicks off with featured rhubarb menu items at local restaurants- from savory to sweet, you won't leave hungry. Special events around town include a homemade rhubarb wine contest, rhubarb baking and recipe contest, and the Main Street Games!

Many of the local businesses will feature live demonstrations, classes, and special products, all featuring rhubarb-a traditional Amana spring plant. The demonstrations include how to use rhubarb leaves in cleaning and how to press a delicious drink from the stalk. Classes feature a basic food and wine paring with both rhubarb food and wine options. Special products include rhubarb soap and rhubarb candy.

The afternoon is highlighted by a four member Blue Grass group performing at the Visitors Center followed by BrewBQ and Blues at the local brewery.
