DES MOINES, IOWA (June 1, 2020)  The Iowa Restaurant Association announced today that the first round of Iowa Restaurant Employee Relief Fund grants have been distributed to 75 recipients across the state. Funds were distributed to eligible workers on a first-apply, first-receive basis in the form of $250 one-time grants.

The two-part competition challenged top chefs from across Iowa to create an entrée featuring a Beef Sirloin Ball Tip Steak and a soy-based side dish or sauce.

Davenport Community Schools, Cedar Rapids Community School District, and Mt Pleasant High School will participate for prizes and bragging rights. The event will be held at The Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center on October 17, 6-8PM. The event is open to the public and includes dinner for $20.
