DES MOINES, IOWA (July 14, 2026) — Attorney General Brenna Bird today joined a coalition of 42 attorneys general announcing a settlement with the bankruptcy trustee for 23andMe, resolving allegations stemming from a 2023 data breach that compromised the genetic data of 6.9 million customers worldwide.

DES MOINES, IOWA (July 8, 2026) — Attorney General Brenna Bird and 48 other attorneys-general have called on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to strengthen rules that would cut off scammers’ access to legitimate telephone numbers. Without that access, scammers can’t use real numbers to deceive and scam Iowans.

DES MOINES, IOWA (July 1, 2026) — Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird announced that since January, she has traveled to meet with Iowans in all 99 counties, wrapping up yesterday with meetings in Black Hawk, Grundy, and Jasper counties. These meetings across the state consisted of roundtable discussions, business tours, and conversations with community members.

DES MOINES, IOWA (June 30, 2026) — Attorney General Brenna Bird announced today a coalition of seventeen attorneys general, along with the US Department of Justice (DOJ), secured more than fifty million donated eggs and $3.3 million from three of the nation’s largest egg producers in a settlement. A bipartisan multistate investigation with the DOJ into high egg prices showed that Cal-Maine Foods, Versova/Centrum, and Hickman’s Egg Ranch overcharged consumers.
