ANKENY, IOWA (April 9, 2020) — A report released by the Iowa Department of Revenue shows biodiesel-blended fuel represented 69.9 percent of the total reported sales of on-road diesel last year in Iowa. Furthermore, blends of 11–20 percent biodiesel (B11–B20) made up most of those sales.

ANKENY, IOWA (December 20, 2019) — The Environmental Protection Agency has released its final rule for the 2020 Renewable Fuel Standard, holding flat the biodiesel volumes while underestimating future small-refinery exemptions. ANKENY, IOWA (November 12, 2019) — Iowa agricultural and biofuels groups are encouraging Iowa farmers and consumers to make their voices heard by submitting comments on EPA’s recently proposed rule that was supposed to protect the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) from refinery exemptions.

ANKENY, IOWA (October 30, 2019) — The newly-elected chair and others from the Iowa Biodiesel Board testified at the Environmental Protection Agency’s public hearing on the supplemental proposal for meeting the volume-requirements of the Renewable Fuel Standard. The IBB joined other industry leaders in asking EPA to account for the effect of past small-refinery exemptions and increase advanced biofuel and biomass-based diesel-volumes that drive growth in renewable-fuel production.

ANKENY, IOWA (September 2, 2019) — New public opinion research shows a decisive 78 percent of voters in Iowa support expanding biofuel usage in the US through the federal Renewable Fuel Standard. In addition, 77 percent of voters said it’s important to them that the president keep his promises on supporting the RFS. The Iowa Biodiesel Board commissioned the bi-annual survey on biodiesel awareness and biofuel-related political values.
