DES MOINES, IOWA (February 1, 2022) — Governor Kim Reynolds today announced the opening of another round of funding opportunities for employers, non-profits, educational, and community groups seeking to provide high school youth with internship opportunities.

DES MOINES, IOWA (January 27, 2022) — Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds today awarded $1.4 million in grants to 38 Iowa employers and partner organizations who are launching projects to help Iowans achieve postsecondary training and education. Combined, the Employer Innovation Fund awards will boost workforce talent by helping 3,542 Iowans earn non-credit and for-credit credentials that will enable them to obtain or maintain high-demand jobs.

DES MOINES, IOWA (December 17, 2021) — Iowa’s seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate fell to 3.7 percent in November, down from 3.9 percent in October and 3.9 percent one year ago. The US unemployment rate dropped to 4.2 percent.

DES MOINES, IOWA (November 19, 2021) — Iowa’s seasonally-adjusted unemployment-rate dropped to 3.9 percent in October, down from 4.0 percent in September and 4.2 percent one year ago. The US unemployment-rate fell to 4.6 percent.

The number of unemployed Iowans decreased to 64,700 in October from 66,200 in September.
