IOWA CITY, IOWA (October 4, 2022) — Iowa’s leading climate scientists will release the twelfth-annual Iowa Climate Statement 2022: The Many Benefits of Our Trees. Extreme weather including many more dangerous hot and humid days, extreme precipitation, drought, and high winds will threaten our urban trees and rural woodlands.

IOWA CITY, IOWA (September 19, 2019) —Just weeks after July 2019 became the hottest month in 140 years of record-keeping, 216 science-faculty and researchers from 38 Iowa colleges and universities have endorsed the ninth-annual Iowa Climate Statement 2019: Dangerous Heat Events to Become More Frequent and Severe.

IOWA CITY, IOWA (September 16, 2019) — Iowa’s leading climate scientists will release the Iowa Climate Statement 2019: Dangerous Heat Events Will Be More Frequent and Severe at two press availabilities. The lead authors will describe the sobering impact of projected hotter heat-waves and many more hot days in Iowa and the need to better prepared people, pets and livestock.
