ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (February 24, 2026) — The Augustana Symphonic Band, directed by Dr James Lambrecht, will bring performances to communities across Illinois and Wisconsin March 20-26. All concerts are open to the public. A freewill offering will be accepted.

The tour starts on March 20, 7:30PM, in Oregon, Illinois, and a home concert will be held in Augustana’s Centennial Hall, located at 3703 7th Ave, on April 11.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (February 20, 2026) — Augustana College announced more than 1,200 students were named to the Dean's List for the 2025-2026 fall semester. Students who have earned this academic honor have maintained a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a four-point scale for courses taken during the term.

Anmolpreet Kaur, class of 2026, from Bettendorf, Iowa, majoring in Accounting and Business Analytics was named to Augustana College's fall semester Dean's List.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (February 16, 2026) — Augustana College announces the publication of Called to Reckon: Replacing History and Reclaiming Mission at a Midwestern College,  a faculty-edited volume released by Southern Illinois University Press that examines how institutions wrestle with history, identity, and responsibility over time.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (December 23, 2025) — Augustana College and UnityPoint Health Trinity College of Nursing and Health Sciences have signed a definitive agreement to strengthen the future of health care education in the Quad Cities through the acquisition of Trinity College's academic programs and operations by Augustana College.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (December 17, 2025) — The Augustana College Department of Music presents Messiah on February 22, 3PM in Centennial Hall.

George Frideric Handel’s Messiah will be performed by the Augustana Oratorio Society, conducted by Dr Jon Hurty, director of choral activities. Soloists are Michelle Areyzaga, soprano; Dashon Burton, bass baritone; Stephen Soph, tenor; and Jessye Wright, mezzo soprano. A professional orchestra will accompany the performance.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (December 2, 2025) — Augustana College's John Deere Planetarium will present its annual holiday planetarium show, Season of Light, on December 6-12.

Shows will be offered Saturday and Sunday at 2PM and 3PM, and weekdays at 7PM. Doors will open fifteen minutes before each show. Latecomers will not be admitted. The program is not recommended for children ages seven and under.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (November 18, 2025) — Augustana College has appointed Eric Newell as director of choral activities beginning fall 2026.

Newell’s duties will include conducting the Augustana Choir, succeeding longtime conductor Dr Jon Hurty, who is retiring in June 2026.

“Eric Newell is a high-caliber musician, a thoughtful leader and a generous teacher," said Dr Jacob Bancks, co-chair of Augustana’s music department.
