ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (September 9, 2025) — Augustana College has been named one of 75 “New Dream Schools” in the nation in Dream School: Finding the College That’s Right for You, the book released today by New York Times bestselling author and higher-education journalist Jeffrey Selingo. The book is a follow-up to Selingo's 2020 bestseller Who Gets in and Why: A Year Inside College Admissions.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (August 29, 2025) — On the Forbes list of Top Colleges again this year, Augustana College has been recognized as one of 25 private colleges around the country that offer students generous financial aid and scholarships. For all 25 schools on the Forbes list, scholarships cover at least half of the total cost of tuition.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (August 21, 2025) — Members of Augustana College’s Class of 2029 will start the next chapter of their educational careers on September 2 when classes begin. The class of 783 was selected from across the globe from 9,100+ applications — the largest number in college history — with new and transfer students from 23 states and 37 countries, speaking 23 languages.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (July 30, 2025) — Hundreds of current and future Augustana students will benefit from a $500,000 gift from The Austin E Knowlton Foundation, designated specifically for scholarships and financial aid. The Knowlton Foundation’s primary mission is to promote and advance higher education in the United States through direct grants and contributions to qualified colleges and universities.
