ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 21, 2026) — Augustana College will recognize more than 500 graduates at the college’s 166th commencement ceremony Saturday, May 23.

Alumnus Ken Anderson ('71), a 1981 NFL MVP, will deliver the commencement address at the 2PM ceremony at the Vibrant Arena at the Mark, 1201 River Dr, Moline, Illinois.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 14, 2026) — Augustana College received the 2026 Top Colleges for Innovation Award from Insight into Academia magazine, recognizing the college’s work to expand access, strengthen student outcomes and put learning to work in ways that meet students’ needs.

Holly Mendelson, co-owner and publisher of Insight into Academia Magazine, said institutions recognized by the award demonstrate adaptability and leadership.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (April 13, 2026) — Augustana College's John Deere Planetarium and Fryxell Geology Museum will be open to the public on Saturday, April 25, 2026, for an evening of gazing and space shows.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (February 24, 2026) — The Augustana Symphonic Band, directed by Dr James Lambrecht, will bring performances to communities across Illinois and Wisconsin March 20-26. All concerts are open to the public. A freewill offering will be accepted.

The tour starts on March 20, 7:30PM, in Oregon, Illinois, and a home concert will be held in Augustana’s Centennial Hall, located at 3703 7th Ave, on April 11.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (February 20, 2026) — Augustana College announced more than 1,200 students were named to the Dean's List for the 2025-2026 fall semester. Students who have earned this academic honor have maintained a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a four-point scale for courses taken during the term.

Anmolpreet Kaur, class of 2026, from Bettendorf, Iowa, majoring in Accounting and Business Analytics was named to Augustana College's fall semester Dean's List.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (February 16, 2026) — Augustana College announces the publication of Called to Reckon: Replacing History and Reclaiming Mission at a Midwestern College,  a faculty-edited volume released by Southern Illinois University Press that examines how institutions wrestle with history, identity, and responsibility over time.

After ten years of growth in strengthening campus connection and building students’ intercultural skills, Augustana College will evolve its Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion into the Office of the Vice President for Culture and Connection beginning in 2026.
