Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate Urges Voters to Respond Quickly to Change of Address Notices

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 5, 2020) — Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate announces the annual National Change of Address process to update and maintain Iowa's voter registration records is underway. Beginning this week, voters who have filed a change of address with the US Postal Service will receive a card in the mail from the Secretary of State’s Office saying the USPS indicates they have moved.

Statement from Iowa Secretary Paul Pate Regarding Court Ruling

DES MOINES, IOWA (January 24, 2019) — Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate issued the following statement today regarding a judge's ruling on a portion of the Election Modernization and Integrity Act:

"Judge Romano's decision puts the integrity and security of Iowa’s elections at risk, by making it easier to cheat. The purpose of this rule is to ensure that County Auditors obtain information missing from an absentee ballot request form from the source: the requesting voter.
