SPRINGFIELD (Aug. 23, 2017) – The Illinois Budgeting for Results (BFR) Commission will be holding public hearings in Chicago on Aug. 30 and Springfield on Sept. 6 for the public to learn about Illinois’ performance-based budgeting efforts and talk with BFR Commissioners.

Program has resulted in economic growth, revitalization for Aurora, East St. Louis, Elgin, Peoria, Rockford

AURORA (Aug. 18, 2017) – Gov. Bruce Rauner today signed Senate Bill 1783, bipartisan legislation that extends the River Edge Redevelopment Zone tax credit program. The tax credit program has helped preserve historic buildings and grow local economies in the five communities where the credit is applicable: Aurora, East St. Louis, Elgin, Peoria and Rockford.

SPRINGFIELD (Aug. 15, 2017) – Gov. Bruce Rauner today signed a series of agriculture bills, including House Bill 470, which designates corn as the official state grain of Illinois and is supported by the Illinois Farm Bureau.

Primary bill sponsor state Rep. C.D. Davidsmeyer (R-Jacksonville) said HB 470 is inspired by the Pittsfield High School agriculture development class, which did extensive research on the impact corn has on the state.

SPRINGFIELD (Aug. 15, 2017) – Today, Gov. Bruce Rauner, along with Illinois Director of Agriculture Raymond Poe, named teacher Vic Worthington and his students at Rochelle Middle School “Illinoisans of the Day” for helping an injured farmer. The announcement was made during a proclamation ceremony on Agriculture Day at the Illinois State Fair.

SPRINGFIELD (Aug. 15, 2017) – Gov. Bruce Rauner signed House Bill 2661, which allows Emergency Medical Services (EMS) professionals to transport police dogs injured in the line of duty to a veterinary clinic, provided no people require medical attention or transport at that time.
