DES MOINES, IOWA (December 17, 2024) — The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), Iowa’s leading small business advocacy organization, announced a new advertising campaign across the Hawkeye State and several other states featuring targeted radio and digital ads that urge Congress to pass the Repealing Big Brother Overreach Act.

The legislation would repeal the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) and the beneficial ownership information reporting rule.

DES MOINES, IOWA (December 10, 2024) — The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Small Business Optimism Index rose by eight points in November to 101.7, after 34 months of remaining below the fifty-year average of 98. This is the highest reading since June 2021. Of the 10 Optimism Index components, nine increased, none decreased, and one was unchanged. Following last month’s record high of 110, the Uncertainty Index declined twelve points in November to 98.

DES MOINES, IOWA (October 8, 2024) — The NFIB (National Federation of Independent Businesses) Small Business Optimism Index rose by 0.3 points in September to 91.5. This is the 33rd consecutive month below the fifty-year average of 98. The Uncertainty Index rose eleven points to 103, the highest reading recorded. Fifty-one percent of owners reported capital outlays in the last six months, down five points from August.
