Join Christian Care for Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A

Rock Island, IL, September 24th - Chick-fil-A is hosting a spirit night that will benefit Christian Care on September 24, from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.. Bring in your spirit night invitation and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Christian Care to support the services that they offer to so many in the Quad Cities community.  Chick-fil-A is located at 2945 East 53 Davenport.  To get your invitation stop by Christian Care or call Lindsey at 309-786-5734.

Christian Care's services are available in the Quad Cities to a growing number of homeless men and abused women and children 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Through their two facilities?a domestic violence shelter for abused women and children and a rescue mission for homeless men?they provide safe shelter, nutritious meals, clothing, counseling, referrals and guidance to anyone in need. They serve homeless individuals, victims of domestic violence, veterans, men and women coming out of prison, and the mentally ill. Their vision is to transform the lives of those they serve by providing their residents with an opportunity to start a new, more
productive life.

Nelson Chiropractic Will Be Celebrating 15 Years in Practice and Christian Care Will Benefit

Rock Island, IL -Nelson Chiropractic, located in Bettendorf, will be hosting a Patient Appreciation Week June 10 through June 14. During this special week, Dr. Nelson, Dr. Friemel and Dr. Gall will be donating their time and services?consultation, state-ofthe-art computerized spinal exam and x-rays if they are needed?to new patients in exchange for a $20 donation to Christian Care's Domestic Violence Shelter. This is a value of over $200! Nelson Chiropractic will also be taking donations from anyone who wants to drop off supplies or money for the organization.

Christian Care, a local nonprofit, provides safe shelter, nutritious meals, and a wide variety of resources to needy men, women and children throughout the Quad Cities. Our vision is to transform the lives of those we serve, offering the homeless and survivors of domestic violence an opportunity to start a new, more productive life.

Christian Care Hosts Understanding Suicide Support Group

Rock Island, IL -Christian Care, a local nonprofit charity that provides shelter for homeless men and for women and children who have experienced domestic violence, now offers a support group called Understanding Suicide: ASAP (Awareness, Support, Action, Prevention). The group has been formed to serve individuals who have contemplated or attempted suicide, those coping with the suicide of a loved one and those concerned about a loved one.

The Understanding Suicide group will meet the first and third Wednesday of every month from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Christian Care's Rescue Mission located at 2209 3rd Ave in Rock Island. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 17 th at 4:00 p.m. Although a mental health professional will facilitate the group, this is not a therapy group.

The group's goal is to provide education, resources, support and an opportunity to share and process thoughts and feelings related to suicide. Participants will be able to share experiences related to suicide, learn suicide's warning signs, understand the process for helping at-risk individuals, and provide information and knowledge about preventing suicide.
