Artist Studios and Galleries to be featured in 50 Miles of Art!

Hannibal, MO - Enjoy a Fall drive and discover the 50 Miles of Art and the gallery and studio tour in Hannibal, Louisiana, and Clarksville, Missouri.  On November 7-8, spend the day or the weekend in the area and visit 20 artists and artisan galleries, studios, and specialty shops along a 50 mile stretch of scenic Route 79.   Take a weekend trip and drive along the Mississippi River and see why artisans are inspired by the beautiful surroundings and choose to live and create in these historic river towns.  The Studio and Gallery Tour is a great opportunity to hit the road for the weekend and take in 50 Miles of Art and all the area has to offer!

Hannibal Celebrates 36th Annual Folklife Festival

Hannibal, MO - Over 100 exhibitors will fill the streets of Hannibal's Historic Main Street on
Saturday and Sunday, October 20 and 21, for the Hannibal Arts Council's 36th Annual Autumn
Historic Folklife Festival. Festival hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4
p.m. on Sunday.

The two-day festival features artists, artisans and craftsmen demonstrating and selling handmade
traditional arts and fine crafts, strolling and street musicians, a wide array of great festival foods,
a children's area, Farmer's Market, hot or cold apple cider, refreshing root beer and a wine tasting
area.

Attendees can expect to see weaving and spinning, pottery throwing, candle making, leather
workers, furniture making, blacksmithing, carving, jewelry making, painting and drawing, and a
variety of other traditional arts & fine crafts. Over 80 exhibitors from all over the Midwest will
have unique, handmade products for sale.

Entertainment includes a full schedule of local and regional musicians sharing their talents in the
unique Folklife Festival environment of strolling and street performances. There is also a hymn
sing on Sunday morning.

Delicious food choices are a favorite and assist 20 local community organizations with funds for
their year-round programs and services. Foods being served include : kettle corn, chicken -n-
noodles, bread pudding, turkey legs, root beer and cider, and many other edibles made on-site.

RENAISSANCE HANNIBAL INTRODUCES NEW ART FAIR

Hannibal, MO - Renaissance Hannibal will sponsor the Downtown Hannibal Art Fair on June 9 and 10 in Historic Downtown Hannibal.  The festival will be held from 10am to 8pm Saturday, June 9 and 10am to 4pm Sunday, June 10.

The Downtown Hannibal Art Fair makes it debut as the ultimate art block party - featuring quality artists and evening hours with Second Saturday Gallery Night - all in the heart of Downtown Hannibal.  In addition to the Downtown Hannibal Art Fair, the galleries of Historic Downtown Hannibal will be open for Second Saturday Gallery Night from 5-8pm on Saturday, June 9.

The Downtown Hannibal Art Fair features artwork that is handmade and individually designed by the artist. A variety of exhibitors from the Hannibal area, as well as artists from Illinois, Iowa and other Midwestern states will be participating.  Accepted applicants will be exhibiting and selling works several media categories:  paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture, pottery, jewelry, fiber, wood, clay and wearable art!

Hannibal has long been known as a place for artists, artist studios, galleries and a vibrant art community.  The Downtown Hannibal Art Fair was created by Renaissance Hannibal to spotlight both the arts and Historic Downtown Hannibal - an opportunity for both the community and visitors to experience the arts set in an intimate festival setting

Renaissance Hannibal is a volunteer organization with interests in downtown development, establishment of neighborhood associations, issues effecting downtown businesses and potential for growth in Downtown Hannibal.
