CHAMPAIGN, IL (05/29/2014)(readMedia)-- CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Geovanni Tlalpan of Silvis, Illinois, a recent graduate of the Ford ASSET Program at Parkland College, has been hired as entry-level service technician by Sexton Ford Sales in Moline.

About the Ford ASSET Program

The two-year Ford ASSET Program trains students to diagnose, service, and maintain Ford automotive products using recommended procedures, special tools, and Ford service publications. Classroom work and additional technical training combine with periods of real-world work experience to complete the training. Graduates of Parkland's program enter the workforce as entry-level service technicians with the same Ford Motor Co. certifications that a technician would receive by going to a Ford Training Center, for a fraction of the cost at private schools. Graduates also earn the Associate in Applied Science degree in Automotive Service Technology and often opt to transfer their earned credits toward a bachelor's degree.

Parkland College is a fully accredited public community college serving the needs of District 505, Illinois' third largest community college district.
