We truly hope that your summer was as awesome as ours, and we thank you for all of your support during the summer.

Now that the kids are back in school, the leaves are off the trees and the wind is a little brisk its time to huddle up and get through the winter months.  The vendors here at the market will be braving the winter to bring you all your favorite home baked, hand made, locally grown and one of a kind creations that you have enjoyed all summer.

Our winter session kicks off on Saturday November 3rd with the regular hours of 8am to 1pm and Tuesdays from 3pm till 6pm.  We look forward to seeing you and both of us can keep warm with a cup of coffee and maybe a cookie.

Stop by and say "hi" and pick up some great deals while you are here.

You're invited to attend a benefit for Johnny on Saturday, November 10 from 11am until 5pm at VFW Post 9128 at 2184 State Street in Bettendorf.

Come and enjoy hot chili, soda, etc and take part in our 50/50 drawing, silent auction and raffle.

All proceeds go to the remodel of Johnny's home to make it wheelchair accessible.

The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train is coming to Davenport and will stop here on Thursday, December 6th at 2pm at the Florian Keen parking lot (Western Ave @ West River Drive - by Modern Woodman Park).

That afternoon, the community will rally together and collect food and funds for Churches United's 24 food pantries and enjoy a special holiday experience right here in the Quad Cities! The train will stop in Davenport for an approximate 45 minute performance.

Admission is a food or cash donation. There will be a drive through area to drop off food and cash donations and see the decorated train.

Here's some information:
* The Holiday Train is 1,000 feet in length with 14 decorated rail cars including a modified box car that's been turned into a traveling stage for performers. Canadian recording artist Shaun Verreault of "Wide Mouth Mason" and Juno award-winning singer Melanie Doane will be the musical headliners on the US Holiday Train keeping the community warm with well known holiday tunes.
* Since 1999, the CP Holiday Train program has generated over 1000 tons of food donations and raised over $4 million for food programs.

The biggest car enthusiast club in the Quad Cities Area, the Quad Cities Cruisers are presenting Arrowhead Ranch, Viet Nam Veterans Chapter 299 and QC Crimestoppers each a check for $2500 this coming Saturday night, September 15th at the JC Penney Parking lot of South Park Mall in Moline, IL.

There will be hundreds of classic cars on display at this event as well as many food vendors and special interest vendors.  The Viet Nam Veterans Chapter 299 will present our nation's colors promptly at 6pm and the check presentations will happen immediately after that.

Come on out to the Whistle Stop Java Shop on Saturday, Sept. 29th for the 2nd Annual Milan Old Time Bluegrass Music Fest featuring several local bands.  Bring your lawn chairs and settle in from 4pm until 8pm for some good times and good music!

With temperatures already predicted to top at 100 degrees, the Bix 7 race committee has cancelled the Iowa American Water Bix at 6 and the trials for the Quad City Bank & Trust Battle Up Brady scheduled for this Thursday, July 5th. Due to the cancellations last Thursday and this week, an extra week has been added to the schedule. There will be scheduled Bix at 6 practice runs and Battle Up Brady trials on July 12th and now July 19th beginning at 6 PM.
