GALESBURG, ILLINOIS (September 29, 2025) — Knox College began the 2025-26 academic year welcoming more than 340 new students, one of the largest classes in College history, representing 32 states and 20 countries.

"A third of our incoming class are international students," Knox College President C Andrew McGadney shared during welcoming remarks on Tuesday, September 9.

GALESBURG, ILLINOIS (September 24, 2025) — On a warm, sunny September Monday, Knox College opened its 188th academic year with its annual Opening Convocation on the South Lawn of Old Main. The crowd included staff, faculty, returning students, and more than 340 new students from 32 states and twenty countries.

Business major and Student Senate President Manavi Subba ('26) opened the ceremony, reflecting on her growth at Knox and the importance of learning with others.

GALESBURG, ILLINOIS (September 15, 2025) — The Knox College Department of Music is proud to announce the 2025-26 Knox Jazz Year, a season filled with acclaimed guest artists and student performances.

GALESBURG, ILLINOIS (September 13, 2025) — Knox College will host its first Knight Fund Distinguished Artist-in-Residence, Michael Takeo Magruder, from September 16 to September 30, 2025. Magruder is an internationally-known artist who has held over 300 exhibitions in 35 countries, including a recent exhibition at the British Library in London.

GALESBURG, ILLINOIS (September 10, 2025) — As the new academic year begins, Knox College announces the addition of six new tenure-track faculty to its academic program. The new faculty span the arts and sciences, including art, chemistry, computer science, environmental studies, and psychology.

This summer, Knox College lived that motto by hosting its annual College 4 Kids program, made possible by community members, sponsors, and gifts. Community support throughout Knox College and Galesburg enabled children to have a meaningful experience.

GALESBURG, ILLINOIS (August 6, 2025) — This summer, the labs, observatory, and lecture halls of the Umbeck Science and Mathematics Center at Knox College are seeing a more than normal amount of use as Knox was chosen to be one of fourteen nationwide host sites for SSP International's prestigious Summer Science Program in the field of astrophysics.

GALESBURG, ILLINOIS (July 30, 2025) — The Knox College-run organization “Blessings in a Backpack” has received a substantial $15,000 grant from the Galesburg Community Foundation's annual grant cycle, known as The Turnout. This initiative, which operates under the Kleine Center for Community Service, aims to support Galesburg School District 205 students who face food scarcity. Remarkably, this marks the second consecutive year that Blessings in a Backpack has been granted this amount.

GALESBURG, ILLINOIS (July 17, 2025) — Knox College is relaunching its KnoxCorps program, which focuses on immersive experience and community involvement, both important aspects of the Knox student experience.

This initiative, originally established in 2012 in partnership with the Galesburg Community Foundation, connects Knox students with local non-profit organizations, allowing them to engage in meaningful projects and support community needs.

GALESBURG, ILLINOIS (July 10, 2025) — Knox College has continued its legacy of student success with the TRIO Achievement Program, which recently announced its annual award-winners for the 2024-25 academic year. The College has received funding to support the program since 1974.
