The Old Creamery offers summer theatre camps!

Amana- Become part of the magic this summer in Camp Creamery's Merlin's Apprentice and the Deadly Dragon, The Old Creamery Theatre's weeklong theatre camp!

Merlin's Apprentice and the Deadly Dragon is a new musical full of magic and madcap fun. This weeklong workshop is for children ages 7 and up who are interested in exploring the exciting world of theatre. Children work and perform with professional actors from The Old Creamery Theatre Company while they rehearse and present this play.

Merlin's Apprentice and the Deadly Dragon will be held at The Old Creamery Theatre in Amana July 8 through 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. Campers will need to bring a sack lunch each day. Cost is $65 per child and includes the workshop and a T-shirt. No prior experience is needed but the cast is limited to 60 actors and participants must be able to
attend rehearsal every day. Registration is first come, first served and everyone that signs up will be cast in the show. Final performances of the show will be on July 12 at 7 p.m. and July 13 at 11 a.m. on The Old Creamery's Main Stage.

The Old Creamery Theatre Company to perform Talley's Folly at Bella Sala

Amana - The Old Creamery Theatre Company and Bella Sala will bring you an evening of great food and entertainment on Saturday, January 19.

The evening begins at 5 p.m. when the doors to Bella Sala will open for cocktail hour followed by dinner at 6 p.m. The menu includes smoked pork loin, zesty herbed chicken, party potatoes, California blend vegetables, bread and salad. A cash bar will be available.

The Old Creamery Theatre Company will then take to the stage at 7 p.m. to perform Talley's Folly by Lanford Wilson. The play is a romantic comedy set in an old boathouse in rural Lebanon, Missouri in 1944. The story follows two unlikely sweethearts, Matt Friedman and Sally Talley, as they once and for all settle their feelings for one another. Talley's Folly features Old Creamery favorites Deborah Kennedy and Tom Milligan and is sure to be a treat for all.

Tickets for dinner and the show are $45 per person and can be purchased by calling Bella Sala at (319) 545-4255. Purchase of a full table (8 seats) includes a complimentary bottle of white and red wine served with dinner.

Calamity Jane and the Showdown at Dry Gulch is a brand new musical set in the Old West with great parts for boys and girls. This is a weeklong workshop for children who are interested in exploring the exciting world of theatre. The camp is designed to give children ages 7 and up the opportunity to work and perform with professional actors from The Old Creamery Theatre Company while they rehearse and present a play.

Camp Creamery: Calamity Jane and the Showdown at Dry Gulch will be held at The Old Creamery Theatre in Amana July 9 through 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. Campers will need to bring a sack lunch each day. Cost is $65 per child and includes the workshop and

Camp Creamery: The Legend of Blackbeard's Gold is a week-long workshop for children interested in exploring the exciting world of theatre! The camp is designed to give children ages 7 and up the unique opportunity to work and perform with three professional actors from The Old Creamery Theatre while they rehearse and present a play. The Legend of Blackbeard's Gold is a brand new musical full of pirates, damsels in distress, and plenty of fun! It' s a great way for girls and boys to have a theatrical adventure this summer!

The Old Creamery Theatre opens the Main Stage with The Dixie Swim Club

Amana - Celebrate the bonds of friendship as The Old Creamery Theatre presents The Dixie Swim Club, opening on the Main Stage Thursday, April 28 at 3 p.m.

Friends since their college swim team days, Sheree, Dinah, Lexie, Jeri Neal and Vernadette gather each year to reminisce and catch up with one another on their diverse lives. Join them as they travel through the years and talk about marriage, divorce, raising children, careers and growing older. These five funny ladies will make you laugh like only your old friends can as together they face all that life throws their way.

Written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten, The Dixie Swim Club is directed by Sean McCall of Marengo. The cast consists of Krista Neumann of Iowa City; Gwendolyn Schwinke of Cedar Falls; Kristy Hartsgrove of Iowa City; Marquetta Senters of South Amana; and Licia Watson of Overland Park, Kansas.

The Dixie Swim Club runs through May 29 and is rated Theatre PG.

Enjoy a musical tribute to Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline

Amana - Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline were best friends in real life. Thus, it only seems natural for Sherrill Douglas to offer the ultimate concert which answers the question of what it would have been like "back then" to see Loretta and Patsy together in the same concert.

Widely known as the #1 Patsy Cline impersonator in the world, Sherrill will portray these two powerhouses in one concert at The Old Creamery Theatre in Amana on Friday, April 8 at 3 p.m. and Saturday, April 9 at 7:30 p.m.

This show, first offered in 2010 has sold out theatres in Illinois and the Showroom at the Nugget Casino in Carson City, Nevada. You will be amazed as Sherrill opens the show as Loretta Lynn. After intermission, she returns and transforms into her portrayal of Patsy Cline. This is the only show of its kind which honors and pays tribute to two of the country's most beloved legends.
