DISCOVER SUMMER ADVENTURES AT RIVERMONT COLLEGIATE

Keep young minds sharp over the summer with educational programs at Rivermont Collegiate! Rivermont is offering an assortment of Summer Adventures for children from preschool age and up.  Programs cover a wide variety of interests - from cooking to poetry - to French and microbiology. Children from any school may register. Sessions run for one week from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. or from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m.; each session cost $110 and some require an additional $25 lab fee. Students attending two classes per day need to bring a sack lunch. Lunch time will be from 11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Rivermont strives to prepare students who are grounded in the basics, yet able to think analytically and creatively, to confidently meet the challenges of the 21st century.  Check out full class descriptions and obtain a registration form at www.rvmt.org.

Rivermont Collegiate Open House

Foreign language beginning in Kindergarten.  Highest availability of Advanced Placement classes in the state of Iowa.  100% graduate acceptance to four-year colleges and universities.  Extraordinary things happen at Rivermont Collegiate!  Explore our school during our open house this week!  On Thursday, April 29th from 6:00-8:00 p.m., families are invited to drop in for tours of campus, one-on-one discussion, and answers to their questions about Rivermont.  This casual event is designed to introduce local families to the Quad Cities' only private, nonsectarian, independent college prep school.  Rivermont Collegiate, located in Bettendorf, provides students with a comprehensive education in a safe, family-like learning environment.

From PreSchool through twelfth grade, Rivermont students develop a joy for learning, lead peers in community involvement, and take intellectual and artistic risks.  Drop in to learn more about our philosophy, values, and programs!  Cindy Murray, Director of Admissions, will be on hand to answer questions.  The Rivermont campus is located directly off 18th street in Bettendorf behind K&K Hardware.  Visit us online at www.rivermontcollegiate.org!  This event is free and open to the public.

LOCAL STUDENTS TO COMPETE IN BATTLE OF THE BRAINS

Is YOUR child ready to flex their mental muscle?! It's not too late to register for the 3rd annual RAI (Rivermont Academic Invitational). Students in grades 5th-8th from over 20 schools in the Quad Cities area are invited to participate in this team academic competition. Students spend the day in groups of 4, competing in "out of the box" activities that take core curriculum ideas and expands them to hands-on extended learning. This event has been called a "Tournament of the Minds" with up to 300 students competing for first place. RAI 2010 will be held on April 14th for students in 5th and 6th grade and April 15th for students in 7th and 8th grade. Contact your child's teacher or Leigh Ann Schroeder to register today. Don't delay as seats are filling up fast!

World-Renowned Vocal Group to Visit QC School

Come hear the award winning, A Cappella vocalist group: m-pact on Thursday, November 19th at Rivermont Collegiate! Rivermont is located at the Bettendorf Estate on 1821 Sunset Drive in Bettendorf, Iowa. This 9:00 a.m. performance is open to the public and admission is FREE.

Acclaimed by the San Francisco Chronicle as "one of the best pop-jazz vocal groups in the world". M-pact's ability to use the unadulterated power of nature's "first instrument" - the human voice - has garnered them worldwide recognition as a leader in vocal music.

This unstoppable sextet has received international recognition and accolades such as Vocal Group of the Year from the LA Music Awards, an Indie nomination (the Independent GrammyTM), Artist of the Year (Seattle Music Awards), and Grand National Champs of the Harmony Sweepstakes competition. Furthermore, m-pact received the incredible honor of being the first foreign artist ever granted permission to perform at Istana, the Singaporean House of Parliament.
