There seems to be a big misconception going around town about the two Nutcracker Ballet productions this year. It appears from all accounts that children from all over town will be dancing in this week's Moscow Ballet production and that Ballet Quad Cities is using only dancers from its own studio. This is not true. My daughter will be dancing in the Ballet Quad Cities' Nutcracker on December 7, 8, and 9. She does not attend City Center School of the Arts, which is associated with Ballet Quad Cities. She has taken dance lessons for five years at CLB Dance Academy in Davenport. We also have met girls at rehearsals who attend other local dance schools. She auditioned after seeing two notices for open auditions in local papers.

It is important for Quad Citians to support our professional ballet company. It is a fact that the revenue from its performances stays in the Quad Cities to fund future dance performances and educational programs in our schools all year long.

We hope to see you at the Capitol Theater for Ballet Quad Cities' Nutcracker.
