On October 29th, 2014, the Sheriff's Office reported the death of an inmate at our jail. The deceased inmate is identified as Lawrence Bonner (03-03-81) from Parkview, Iowa.

The death investigation is being turned over to the Iowa Department of Public Safety, Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and the Scott County Medical Examiners Office. Any further information regarding this incident will be released by those agencies.

EARLIER STORY

On October 29th, 2014, at approximately 0042 hrs, correctional officers at the Scott County Jail found a 33 year old male inmate who appeared unresponsive in his cell. On-site medical staff were summoned who found the inmate unresponsive and began CPR. Davenport Fire Department and MEDIC Ambulance responded and at approximately 0100 hrs the inmate was pronounced deceased in the jail.

The cause of death has not been determined at this time, an autopsy is pending. The name of the inmate is not being released pending notification of next of kin.

The Scott County Sheriff's Office is conducting an investigation into the incident in conjuction with the Iowa Department of Public Safety Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and the Scott County Medical Examiners Office.

No further information is available at this time.
