The Gaudete Brass Quintet also slated to make regional appearances

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (February 20, 2019) — Professional juggler Greg Kennedy goes beyond throwing a few balls in the air. He blends creative flair with a scientist’s sense of wonder, impressing audiences with his amazing kinetic sculptures and unique object manipulation style.

Kennedy brings his STEM-focused and family-friendly show to Moline’s Spotlight Theatre at 7PM, Thursday, February 28, as part of his week-long residency with the Quad City Arts’ Visiting Artist Series.

This inspiring program explores Kennedy’s journey from professional engineer to international performance-artist. Greg uses the principles of geometry and physics to create groundbreaking work with original apparatuses. Jugglers know him for his award-winning creativity; audiences know him for his entertaining performance, making visual spectacles by combining art and science.

Kennedy spent five years with Cirque du Soleil’s Totem, performing over 1,500 shows in 25 cities for more than 3 million people. He won the gold medal at the International Jugglers' Association Championships, appeared on “The Tonight Show,” and received over two million views on YouTube.

During his week-long Quad City residency, Kennedy will present lectures and demonstrations for 13 schools and he will give an informal performance for the public 6:30PM, Tuesday, February 26, at the Moline Public Library.

Tickets for Greg Kennedy’s February 28 performance are $10 for adults and $5 for students and children. Tickets are available online at www.quadcityarts.com/events or at the door.

During their March visit, The Gaudete Brass Quintet, a brass chamber ensemble, will perform at seven schools and give informal public performances as part of the Jackson Concert Series at Wesley United Methodist Church, Muscatine; at the Frances Banta Waggoner Community Library, DeWitt, Iowa; at the downtown library in Rock Island; and at West Music, Moline. They’ll also give a brown bag lunch performance at the Bettendorf Public Library. For more information on informal public performances, visit www.quadcityarts.com/vas.
