Going to the cineplex or staying in and streaming this weekend? Every Thursday morning at 8:15 a.m. you can listen to Mike Schulz dish on recent movie releases & talk smack about Hollywood celebs on Planet 93.9 FM with the fabulous Dave & Darren in the Morning team of Dave Levora and Darren Pitra. The morning crew previews upcoming releases, too.
Or you can check the Reader Web site and listen to their latest conversation by the warm glow of your electronic device. Never miss a pithy comment from these three scintillating pundits again.

Thursday, October 23: Discussion of Black Phone 2, Good Fortune, After the Hunt, and Mr. Scorsese; previews of Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, Regretting You, Shelby Oaks, Blue Moon, and A House of Dynamite; and thoughts on nixed Star Wars offerings by Steven Soderbergh and David Fincher, both of which sound more interesting than at least 75-percent of the Star Wars movies we actually got.
Thursday, October 16: Before the previews of Black Phone 2, After the Fall, Good Fortune, Truth & Treason, and Pets on a Train, discussion of The Smashing Machine, Anemone, Good Dog, Tron: Ares, Roofman, Kiss of the Spider Woman, and John Candy: I Like Me. After a week off, it's Lightning Round time again -- this time with Lightning Round sound effects.
Thursday, October 2: Before Mike takes next week off, discussion of One Battle After Another, The Strangers: Chapter 2, Dead of Winter, and Eleanor the Great, and previews of The Smashing Machine, Good Boy, Anemone, and the new Taylor Swift experience. Mike won't be seeing that one. A handful of others probably will.
Thursday, September 25: Discussion of A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, Him, The Senior, and The History of Sound, and previews of One Battle After Another, The Strangers: Chapter 2, Eleanor the Great, and Dead of Winter, the latter starring Emma Thompson and Judy Greer. All of Dave's dreams are finally coming true.
Thursday, September 18: Discussion of Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, Ihe Long Walk, and Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, and previews of A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, Him, The Senior, and Afterburn. An extra-long segment because Dave and Mike have a lo-o-o-o-ot of thoughts about the new Tap ... but their discourse and disagreements remain civil, dammit!
Thursday, September 11: Discussion of The Conjuring: Last Rites, Highest 2 Lowest, and Twinless, previews of Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, The Long Walk, and Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, and Dave's unadulterated rave about the 1966 kaiju classic The War of the Gargantuans, which sounds like far more fun than anything Mike has seen recently.
Thursday, September 4: Discussion of The Roses, Caught Stealing, The Toxic Avenger, and The Thursday Murder Club, and previews of The Conjuring: Last Rites, Highest 2 Lowest, Hamilton, Twinless, The Cut, and Lurker. Plus, thoughts on whether it's the proper time to remake The Natural. We want our unhappy ending, dammit!
Thursday, August 28: Discussion of Honey, Don't!, Eden, Relay, and It's Never Over, Jeff Buckley, and previews of Caught Stealing, The Roses, The Toxic Avenger, and the 50th-anniversary return of Jaws. Darren, by the way, took the day off to attend a concert in Chicago, so Dave and Mike are forced to party like it's 2002.
Thursday, August 21: Discussion of Nobody 2, Americana, and Shin Godzilla, and previews of Primitive War, Eden, Trust, Relay, Honey Don't!, Ne Zha II, It's Never Over, Jeff Buckley, the sing-along version of KPop Demon Hunters, the 35th anniversary re-release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ... . Anyone wanna bet that all of 'em combined don't match the third-weekend box office for Weapons and Freakier Friday?
Thursday: August 14: Previews of Nobody 2, Shin Godzilla, Eli Roth Presents: Jimmy & Stiggs, and Americana, and discussion of Weapons, Sketch, and Freakier Friday, the latter inspiring Dave to proclaim his undying fealty to Jamie Lee Curtis while inspiring Darren to ask: Who made her the voice of a generation?
Thursday, August 7: Previews of Freakier Friday, Weapons, and Sketch, and discussion of The Bad Guys 2 and The Naked Gun, with a primer on why you should ma-a-a-aybe think twice about bringing your mother or father-in-law to that latter title.
Thursday, July 31: Previews of The Naked Gun and The Bad Guys 2, discussion of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, The Home, and House on Eden, and a preview and discussion of Together, a new horror allegory starring real-life married couple Alison Brie and Dave Franco. They're stuck together! Literally!
Thursday, July 24: Previews of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, The Home, and House on Eden, and discussion of Eddington, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and Smurfs, the latter Mike's favorite of all the Smurfs movies he's seen. This is not high praise.
Thursday, July 17: After a week off, the boys are back to preview Smurfs, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and Eddington, and chat about Superman and Jaws @ 50: The Definitive Inside Story. Also, Dave has caught up with Sinners and says it was fine; he'd maybe give it a "B." Mike tries not to be appalled.
Thursday, July 3: Discussion of F1: The Movie and M3GAN 2.0; a review scoop on the debuting Jurassic World Rebirth; and an analysis of the New York Times' 100 best movies of the millennium voted on by critics, show-biz folk, and the public. No segment next week, so the guys will reunite - and chat about Superman - on July 17. Happy 4th of July!
Thursday, June 26: Discussion of Elio, 28 Years Later , and Bride Hard; previews of F1: The Movie and M3GAN 2.0; and some early chat about Andor and the new season of The Bear -- though as long as they come with air-conditioning, any indoor entertainments seem worthwhile these days.
Thursday, June 19: Discussion of How to Train Your Dragon, Materialists, and The Life of Chuck; a review scoop on the debuting Elio; and previews of 28 Years Later and Bride Hard, the latter an action comedy set at a wedding reception. You know someone's gonna wind up dead in the punch bowl.
Thursday, June 12: Discussion of Ballerina, The Phoenician Scheme, and Dangerous Animals; previews of How to Train Your Dragon, Materialists, The Life of Chuck, and The Unholy Trinity; and a detour on Mickey 17's weird Pigeon Man whom Mike doesn't remember and Dave remembers all too well.
Thursday, June 5: Discussion of Karate Kid: Legends, Bring Her Back, and Mountainhead; previews of Ballerina, The Phoenician Scheme, and Dangerous Animals: and Dave's list of the best-ever poster taglines for shark thrillers. Dangerous Animals' might just take the cake.
Thursday, May 29: Previews of Karate Kid: Legends and Bring Her Back, and discussion of Lilo & Stitch, Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, and Friendship. Mike also saw The Last Rodeo. Out of kindness, it's barely mentioned.
Thursday, May 22: Discussion of Final Destination: Bloodlines, Hurry Up Tomorrow, and Nonnas, and previews of Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, Lilo & Stitch, The Last Rodeo, and Friendship, the latter of which looks like a feature-length take on one of Tim Robinson's I Think You Should Leave sketches. In other words: priceless.
Thursday, May 15: Previews of Final Destination: Bloodlines and Hurry Up Tomorrow, and discussion of Shadow Force, Fight or Flight, The Shrouds, and Clown in a Cornfield, the latter the rare horror movie whose mid-film plot twist not only can but should be spoiled.
Thursday, May 8: After a week off, the boys are back with a jam-packed segment: discussion of Thunderbolts* , Another Simple Favor, The Surfer, Rust, The Accountant 2, and Until Dawn; previews of Shadow Force, Fight or Flight, and Clown in a Cornfield; and a reveal of the summer blockbuster Darren is most eagerly anticipating. It might not be what you think. Or maybe it is.
Thursday, April 24: Previews of The Accountant 2, Until Dawn, The Legend of Ochi, and the 20th-anniversary re-release of Revenge of the Sith, and discussion of The Wedding Banquet and Sinners, the latter possibly Mike's favorite film over the 20-ish years he's been chatting with D&D. If anything tops it this year, it's gonna be a crazy-good movie year.
Thursday, April 17: Discussion of The Amateur, Drop, and Warfare, and previews of Sinners, The Wedding Banquet, a one-night-only Neil Young doc ... and, somehow, exactly zero new releases about animated animals on a comic adventure. What kind of Easter weekend is this?
Thursday, April 10: Discussion of A Minecraft Movie, The Friend, and Hell of a Summer, and previews of Warfare, The Amateur, Drop, King of Kings, and The Chosen: Last Supper Part 3, the latter with a running length of more than three hours. Patrons will have to bring a supper of their own.
Thursday, April 3: Discussion of Death of a Unicorn, The Woman in the Yard, and A Working Man, and previews of A Minecraft Movie, Hell of a Summer, and The Friend, the latter starring Naomi Watts, Bill Murray, and a Great Dane. It's a drama. About grief. The odds on the pup's survival do not appear good.
Thursday, March 27: Discussion of Snow White, The Alto Knights, No Other Land, and Locked, previews of Death of a Unicorn, A Working Man, and The Woman in the Yard, and Dave revealing to Mike the star of the forthcoming Mummy reboot ... just to ruin his day, apparently.
Thursday, March 20: Discussion of The Electric State, Black Bag, Novocaine, The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, Opus, and Omni Loop, and previews of Snow White, Locked, and The Alto Knights, the latter featuring Robert De Niro acting opposite a first-time co-star: Robert De Niro.
Thursday, March 13: Discussion of Mickey 17, In the Lost Lands, and The Rule of Jenny Pen; previews of Novocaine, Black Bag, Opus, and The Day the Earth Blew Up; and reminscences on that Tom-and-Jerry short that ended with the characters' suicide pact. Talk about a loony 'toon.
Thursday, March 6: Discussion of Last Breath and Riff Raff, and previews of Mickey 17, In the Lost Lands, and Night of the Zoopocalypse. After the 20-plus minutes the guys did on the Oscars this past Monday, they're grateful for this morning's short-and-sweet .. as, no doubt, are their listeners.
Monday, March 3: Monday-morning bonus edition! The guys rap about last night's Oscars! So much to unpack!
Thursday, February 27: Discussion of The Monkey and The Unbreakable Boy, previews of Last Breath and Riff Raff, and predictions for this Sunday's Academy Awards. Dave is predicting ... a return to glamour!
Thursday, February 20: Discussion of Captain America: Brave New World, Paddington in Peru, and the Oscar-nominated animated and live-action shorts, and previews of The Monkey, The Unbreakable Boy, and some movie with Robert De Niro, Tommy Lee Jones, and Morgan Freeman that's only playing locally once a day after 9 p.m. Ummm ... for the film's target demographic, isn't that a little late?
Thursday, February 13: Discussion of Heart Eyes, Love Hurts, and I'm Still Here, and previews of Captain America: Brave New World, the Oscar-nominated shorts, and Paddington in Peru. Olivia Colman! As a nun! With a guitar! It's already Dave's favorite movie of the year.
