The Accountant 2 (R; Davenport 5t3rd 18 + IMAX, VIP Cinemas, Blue Grass Drive-in, Marcus Sycamore Cinema) - Whenever Gavin O'Connor's followup is going through the expected genre motions, it's pretty tired stuff, yet whenever the film embraces its Odd Couple buddy-comedy leanings, which is blessedly often, it's a total hoot IMDb listing.

The Amateur (PG-13; Davenport Davenport 53rd 18 + IMAX, VIP Cinemas, Blue Grass Drive-in, Marcus Sycamore Cinema) - A professionally rendered, conspiracy-minded globe-trotter with a cast of Oscar, Emmy, and Tony winners that, every so often, delivers some generic excitement and a minor giggle. IMDb listing.

Arctic: Our Frozen Planet (not rated; Putnam Museum & Science Center) - IMDb listing.

Back from the Brink: Saved from Extinction (not rated; Putnam Museum & Science Center) - This edu-doc would be recommended solely for the chance, for 40 minutes, to actually feel momentarily great about the state of the human race. IMDb listing.

The Big Lebowski (R; The Last Picture House Rooftop: Thursday, May 15, 8 p.m.) - IMDb listing.

Clown in a Cornfield: (R; Davenport 53rd 18 + IMAX, VIP Cinemas, The Last Picture House, Marcus Sycamore Cinema) - IMDb listing.

Crash (NC-17; FilmScene at the Chauncey: Saturday, May 10, 9:30 p.m., and Thursday, May 15, 7 p.m.) - IMDb listing.

Deadly Weapons (not rated; FilmScene at the Chauncey: Wednesday, May 14 10 p.m.) - IMDb listing.

Death by Fruitcake (not rated; The Last Picture House: Friday, May 9, 7 p.m.) - IMDb listing.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Movie (not rated; Davenport 53rd 18 + IMAX: Wednesday, May 14, 7:20 & 7:50 p.m.) - IMDb listing.

Dinosaurs Alive (not rated; Putnam Museum & Science Center) - Even young viewers may wind up disappointed that the 3D effects don't add much, while the rest of us might also be underwhelmed by the sub-Ray Harryhausen recreations and general blandness of the presentation IMDb listing.

Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying & Love the Bomb (PG; FilmScene at the Chauncey: Sunday, May 11, noon) - IMDb listing.

Drop (PG-13; VIP Cinemas) - Given the unbelievable talent of charisma of lead Meghann Fahy, I adored every nanosecond of her profoundly silly, deliriously entertaining star-on-the-rise vehicle. IMDb listing.

The Encampments (not rated; FilmScene on the Ped Mall) - IMDb listing.

Fight or Flight (R; Davenport 53rd 18 + IMAX, VIP Cinemas, Marcus Sycamore) - IMDb listing.

The Films of Arman Hodasefat (not rated; FilmScene at the Chauncey: Saturday, May 10, 4 p.m.) - ICFilmScene.org.

Flight of the Butterflies (not rated; Putnam Museum & Science Center) - A bit pokey, but the slow, unspeakably beautiful explosion that is the butterflies' mass exodus is enough to make you believe in God - or, at the very least, in the gods of nature docs. IMDb listing.

The Friend (R; VIP Cinemas) - Scott McGehee's and David Siegel's engaging, affecting adaptation of Sigrid Nunez's National Book Award-winning bestseller won;'t require a box of Kleenex. One or two individual tissues would suffice. IMDb listing.

Guru Nanak Jahaz (not rated; Davenport 53rd 18 + IMAX) - IMDb listing.

Hamlet 2 (R; Monday, May 12, 7 p.m.) - For such a goofy endeavor, this backstage comedy has a lot of heart, as well as unexpected narrative punch. IMDb listing.

Hidden Universe (not rated; Putnam Museum & Science Center) - IMDb listing.

Hurry Up Tomorrow: Fan Event (R; Davenport 53rd 18 + IMAX: Wednesday, May 14, 6 & 7:30 p.m.) - IMDb listing.

Journey to Space (not rated; Putnam Museum & Science Center) - Says narrator Patrick Stewart of the genial scientists on-screen, "It's all about getting the job done and having a little fun" - an apt description for this edu-doc itself. IMDb listing.

Juliet & Romeo (PG-13; VIP Cinemas, Marcus Sycamore Cinema) - IMDb listing.

The Karate Kid (PG; Davenport 53rd 18 + IMAX: Saturday, May 10, 1:15 p.m.) - IMDb listing.

The King of Kings (PG; VIP Cinemas) - IMDb listing.

Kingdom of HeavenDirector's Cut (R; Davenport 53rd 18 + IMAX: Wednesday, May 14, 6 p.m.) - If you could pinpoint the single most depressing thing about this historical epic, it's probably that the movie probably wound up exactly the way director Ridley Scott and his collaborators envisioned: noble, serious, and devoid of anything the slightest bit novel or imaginative. IMDb listing.

The Legend of Ochi (PG; The Last Picture House) - IMDb listing.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (PG-13; The Last Picture House: Saturday, May 10, 6 p.m., and Sunday, May 11, 3 p.m.) - Peter Jackson and his collaborators truly pulled it off, taking on a huge cinematic undertaking and succeeding in style. IMDb listing.

Ma (R; Davenport 53rd 18 + IMAX: Wednesday, May 14, 7:10 p.m.) - This horror flick remains the most irritating kind of failure, because it feels like those of us rooting for the film due to its promising setup and Octavia Spencer's go-for-broke turn care more about the end result than its filmmakers appear to. IMDb listing.

Meg & the Lost Scepter (not rated; Putnam Museum & Science Center) - Putnam.org.

A Minecraft Movie (PG; Davenport 53rd 18 + IMAX, VIP Cinemas, Blue Grass Drive-in, Marcus Sycamore Cinema) - Little more than an unpretentious goofball slapstick for kids, or those who, for 100 minutes, agree to be wholly in touch with their inner kid - but Jack Black is astoundingIMDb listing.

Most People Die on Sundays (not rated; FilmScene on the Ped Mall) - IMDb listing.

Museum Alive! (not rated; Putnam Museum & Science Center) - Putnam.org.

National Parks Adventure (not rated; Putnam Museum & Science Center) - This expectedly gorgeous edu-doc is unexpectedly, even thrillingly, varied in presentation: sensationally informative, joyfully inspiring, and even laugh-out-loud funny. IMDb listing.

Oceans (G; Putnam Museum & Science Center) - The movie's 85 minutes occasionally crawl by as deliberately as its sea-floor denizens, yet it's hard to be too disappointed by a film that provides so many extraordinary sights. IMDb listing.

On Swift Horses (R; FilmScene on the Ped Mall) - IMDb listing.

The Princess Bride (PG; The Last Picture House Rooftop: Friday, May 9, and Saturday, May 10) - IMDb listing.

Reservoir Dogs (R; The Last Picture House: Tuesday, May 13, 7 p.m.) - IMDb listing.

Shadow Force (R; Davenport 53rd 18 + IMAX, VIP Cinemas) - IMDb listing.

Show Me Your Glory (not rated; Davenport 53rd 18 + IMAX, VIP Cinemas, Marcus Sycamore Cinema) - IMDb listing.

The Shrouds (R; The Last Picture House) - IMDb listing.

Sinners (R; Davenport 53rd 18 + IMAX, VIP Cinemas, Blue Grass Drive-in, FilmScene at the Chauncey, Marcus Sycamore Cinema) - This might be first great movie that literally gives you everything, considering that most revered titles don't think to add bloody supernatural horror, original blues songs, and an American-history primer into the mix. IMDb listing.

Snow White (PG; Davenport 53rd 18 + IMAX, VIP Cinemas, Voy 61 Drive In Theatre, Marcus Sycamore Cinema) - This Disney reboot occasionally made me Happy, but more often just Sleepy and Grumpy. IMDb listing.

Space: The New Frontier (not rated; Putnam Museum & Science Center) - IMDb listing.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (PG-13; Putnam Museum & Science Center: Thursday, May 15, 7 p.m.) - George Lucas' (second) trilogy-ender isn't a particularly good movie, but it is, at least, reverent to the franchise; it's the Godfather Part III of the Star Wars series. IMDb listing.

Subham (not rated; Davenport 53rd 18 + IMAX) - IMDb listing.

Superpower Dogs (not rated; Putnam Museum & Science Center) - Daniel Ferguson's edu-doc provides enough globe-trotting action for a James Bond flick, treating us to first-rate training footage and re-created missions in locales ranging from the Canadian Rockies to the Italian coast to a debris-strewn site near New York's Ground Zero. IMDb listing.

The Surfer (R; VIP CInemas) - It's usually fun to watch Nicolas Cage unspool and hit rock bottom, but what, exactly, is going on in this arid thriller, and why is it so torturously hard to care? IMDb listing.

T. REX (not rated; Putnam Museum & Science Center) - IMDb listing.

Thudarum (not rated; Davenport 53rd 18 + IMAX) - IMDb listing.

Thunderbolts* (PG-13; Davenport 53rd 18 + IMAX, VIP Cinemas, Voy 61 Drive In Theatre, Blue Grass Drive-in, Marcus Sycamore Cinema) - The good time I had came only in fits and spurts, and despite sitting through the entirety of its running length including the inevitable post-credits teaser, I'm no more stoked for the next Marvel than I was for this one. IMDb listing.

An Unfinished Film (not rated; FilmScene at the Chauncey) - IMDb listing.

Until Dawn (R; Davenport 53rd 18 + IMAX, VIP Cinemas, Marcus Sycamore Cinema) - A senseless, boring, derivative snooze featuring zero characters whom you hope will survive its very, very long night's journey into day. IMDb listing.

Warfare (R; VIP Cinemas, Marcus Sycamore Cinema) - A rather stunning war-time thriller, but if we can't glean our protagonists' mission beyond “get out alive,” and don't feel anything at the finale beyond relief that it's over, why are we watching in the first place? IMDb listing.

The Wedding Banquet (R; FilmScene at the Chauncey) -This gay rom-com is warm and winning, and if it doesn't quite transcend the goofiness of its conceit, that's no big deal. In this vanishing genre these days, “good enough” is pretty much the new “good.” IMDb listing.

The Wizard of Oz (G; Marcus Sycamore Cinema: Sunday, May 11, and Monday, May 12, 7 p.m.) - IMDb listing.

Wolf Children (PG; Davenport 53rd 18 + IMAX) - IMDb listing.

The Woman in the Yard (PG-13; VIP Cinemas) - The wheels eventually fall off the wagon, but for at least an hour, director Jaume Collet-Serra and his first-rate cast keep the proceedings appropriately creepy, and even somewhat moving. IMDb listing.

A Working Man (R; Blue Grass Drive-in) - This vengeance thriller isn't a sequel but it feels like a sequel – a familiar-seeming character taking on One Last Mission you're pretty sure he took on a decade ago. IMDb listing.
