This Tuesday brings the highly anticipated release of previously unavailable demos and live sessions from the late singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley and former Captain Beefheart guitarist Gary Lucas. Entitled Songs To No One 1991-1992, the 11-track collection bears the Knitting Factory Records imprint and features four tracks recorded at the intimate New York City nightclub. Bearing full approval of Buckley's mother and estate manager, Mary Guibert, and produced by Hal Willner, the collection documents his introduction to the downtown New York City scene and his collaboration with Lucas, which later included a brief run in Gods & Monsters and the songs "Mojo Pin" and the title track to Buckley's Grace album from 1994. Columbia Records has also announced that in late November it will release a special box set of five rare CD singles from the Grace album. The collection includes some available commercially for the first time and features the Japanese EP of "Last Goodbye," the Australian version of The Grace EP, the Dutch "So Real," and the America "Live From the Bataclan" and "Peyote Radio Theater." Each of these discs contains many rare tracks such as his covers of Big Star's "Kanga-Roo" and Van Morrison's "The Way Lovers Do," as well as the rare studio track "Tongue."
