The Daredevil Christopher Wright This should not be taken as anything other than an inquiry from a discouraged person. We here at Daytrotter.com would like to know if the general Quad Cities public cares if we present shows here in town. We have the opportunity to host more and more shows here, with some of the best bands in the country, but have been turning them down because we can't afford to do them with the small draws that we've been getting. We want to help build this music scene up to what it could potentially be.

We're lifers, and Daytrotter's not going anywhere, but the apathy that we've seen in evidence with only 50 people coming out to see what we considered to be a pretty eclectic and fun bill last Wednesday night at The Cap (Damien Jurado, Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson, and Dark Meat) make us wonder if we're wasting our time. If we aren't, please let us know. Please come out and support these great bands and shows and we'll keep doing them. Or we'll just all have to drive to Iowa City, Chicago, and beyond to see anyone we want to see perform. Please let us know that we're doing something you want to continue.

We have a tremendous show coming this Saturday, October 4, at Huckleberry's pizza parlor in Rock Island. We'll be featuring Daytrotter alums and Bon Iver homies The Daredevil Christopher Wright along with openers Hacienda (currently on tour with Dr. Dog) and Bart Davenport (an indie stalwart who writes incredible pop songs). The show will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be $7. We hope to see you there. - Daytrotter
