ABC television's Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? will host a special week of brain-tugging with some of music's biggest stars in February. Look for Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich, Nick Carter and Howie Dorough of the Backstreet Boys, Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray, Sisqo, Emily Robison of the Dixie Chicks, and Gene Simmons of KISS.
Simmons might do well under the cerebral spotlight, as he was once a high-school English teacher in New York City. Mark Kozelek and his band the Red House Painters are finishing up their new album, Old Ramon, for release this spring on the Sub Pop label. Those attending this year's South By Southwest music showcase will get the chance to see the band live - the group's first show in three years. Kozelek has been keeping busy, as his second solo album on the Badman Recordings label, What's Next to the Moon, is due next month. As unusual as it sounds for such a pensive, sensitive songwriter, his love for classic AC/DC showed up with a handful of covers on his last set. The new album's entire 10 tracks are an homage to AC/DC. Did you spot Kozelek as fictional Stillwater bassist Larry Fellows in the recent film Almost Famous? ...

Those who've coughed up a few hundred dollars for the rare sets from Newsies and other films might have to choke back tears of regret, as 12 of Disney's greatest are re-issued in remastered and enhanced packaging this Tuesday at budget prices.
