We here at Daytrotter have been overjoyed with the response to the last two Daytrotter Presents shows at Huckleberry's -- Amos Lee/Shelley Short and Justin Townes Earle/David Vandervelde. We have to thank everyone for coming out, and if you were one of those people, bring two others with you for the next one.

We promise to continue bringing in high quality acts -- putting together diverse bills that you're only going to be able to see here. The next two shows that we have upcoming promise to be just as eclectic.

This Sunday, July 6, we'll welcome And the Moneynotes (from Scranton, Pennsylvania, the home of NBC's The Office) and El Olio Wolof (from Merced, California) to Huckleberry's Pizza Parlor in Rock Island for a 7 p.m. show. And the Moneynotes are reminiscent of Ted Leo & the Pharmacists, the Spinto Band, and Dr. Dog, while El Olio Wolof is slightly Decemberists with a boatload of songs about fire-breathing dragons and wizards.

July 10 we will be bringing one of the country's most exciting young bands to town: the Dodos. They'll be joined by a return engagement from Suzannah Johannes, who was last here opening for Dri, and the Lonelyhearts. It's a show not to be missed.

All advance tickets can be reserved by writing to (daytrotter@gmail.com).

As a teaser, we've just received a confirmation that Carly Simon will be coming in for a recording session at the end of July, and we're working to tempt her into playing a show while she's in town. We'll keep you posted. Have a safe Fourth of July, and we'll see you Sunday, hopefully with all your fingers still attached.
