Daytrotter We've got some show updates to report this week. There's much to be excited about here at Daytrotter central, which reads, "The Quad Cities."

There's been a tremendous response to the Amos Lee/Shelley Short show that we're presenting this Friday, June 27. Tickets are sold out, but we'll have a raffle for a final pair of tickets sometime this Thursday afternoon, so if you'd like a chance for those two tickets, send us an e-mail at (daytrotter@gmail.com) by noon on June 26. Please put "Amos Lee Ticket Raffle" in the subject line. There will be no tickets sold at the door. There are still tickets available for the June 30 Justin Townes Earle show at Huckleberry's Pizza Parlor, and the show - already a cool event - just got cooler as Secretly Canadian artist David Vandervelde has been added to the bill as an opener. Vandervelde has a brilliant new country-kissed record set to come out this summer and will join Steve Earle's talented son for a one-of-a-kind show. Earle has recently been named as a finalist for the Americana Music Association's Emerging Newcomer Award. Those tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. They can be reserved through the same address as above.

We have two other announcements to make. On Monday, we also booked one of the hottest bands in the country. The Dodos - from San Francisco - will be here July 10, headlining a show that includes Lawrence, Kansas' amazing Suzannah Johannes (who was here earlier this winter opening for Dri) and The Lonelyhearts. The show will take place at Huckleberry's Pizza Parlor at 8 p.m. For those of you disappointed that you didn't see Vampire Weekend at Huckleberry's last July, don't miss this show, or you'll be saying the same things all over again. Lastly, starting this week or next, Daytrotter will be offering Frequent Tryer cards to all those who attend our shows. You'll get credit for every show attended, and every eighth show will be on the house. We hope you'll keep coming back. See you soon.
