· Neil Young's new album, Are You Passionate?, is set for release on March 26. The highly anticipated record will feature the single "Let's Roll," written in response to the chilling last words of the September 11 airline passengers who charged the cockpit. This Thursday night is truly must-see-TV, as Young will reunite with David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, just before the quartet kicks off a coast-to-coast tour February 6 in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Still feeling chills from Young's haunting rendition of John Lennon's "Imagine" from last year's benefit broadcast, I'm really looking forward to the singer-songwriter's lyrical take on these slippery times.

· This Tuesday brings a new live album from Sade, recorded on last year's crowd-pleasing tour. Entitled Lovers Live, the 13-track set features smooth soul caresses like "Smooth Operator" and "Cherish the Day." Later this month the Epic label will issue a companion DVD/VHS video of the album, expanded to 22 tracks with backstage life, still photos, and the video clip of "King of Sorrow" by director Sophie Muller.

· Underneath the hair-metal fluff of "hard rock" in the 1980s was one significant development in 1984, when the independent Combat Records released Megadeth's debut Killing Is My Business ... & Business Is Good. With sales of more than 15 million, seven Grammy nominations, and countless Kerrang magazine covers, Dave Mustaine's vision of speed metal became a much-imitated element of the art form. Unfortunately, Mustaine's original vision butted heads with Combat, and the label disregarded his original master tapes and issued the incomplete album without his original artwork. This Tuesday the Loud imprint reissues this classic, fully restored and re-mastered. Highlights include the band's label-seeking demos and the original uncensored version of the album's cover of Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'." A live two-CD set is due March 19 on the Sanctuary label, featuring cover artwork by Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin collaborator Storm Thorgerson.

· Are you perhaps a young lady of low moral fiber and poor judgment who "can't really remember what I did after the Bloodhound Gang concert, but they tell me that I was a lot of fun"? Well, darlin', the Bloodhound boyz might be looking for you. The Republic/Geffen label put the brakes on the release of the band's One Fierce Beer Run home video, because there are 35 mysterious fans who need to sign legal-consent forms. The band's Web site at (http://www.bloodhoundgang.com) features prizes to fuel their search for these unknown faces in the debauchery.
