MOLINE, ILLINOIS (July 5, 2023) — Music on the Lawn, a free Quad Cities family summer tradition, returns to Deere-Wiman House in Moline on July 19 with one-man band Rick Kelley.
Talented singer-songwriter Rick Kelly has performed over 4,000 concerts nationally to audiences from pre-school to senior adult. Whether at an elementary school assembly, festival stage, fine arts theatre, corporate setting, or senior center, he gets audiences to interact as they sing along, dance, and laugh at his antics. Kelley will take the stage at 6:30p at Deere-Wiman House, Moline, with a performance filled with humor and original songs.
Prior to Kelley’s concert, starting at 5PM, families can take part in a variety of old-fashioned hands-on games and activities, such as graces and hoop & stick. In addition, TJ Regul, balloon artist, will make special balloon creations for kids to take home, while the Painted Dragon will create custom face designs with paint. And WQPT Quad Cities Public Television will be present with their own family-fun activities.
Concertgoers are invited to bring a blanket or lawn chairs for seating on the ample Deere-Wiman House lawn, as well as a picnic supper to enjoy outdoors. Lagomarcino’s also will be there selling favorite flavors of their famous ice-cream treats.
In case of inclement weather, the concert will relocate to the Deere-Wiman Carriage House located on the same property.
The event is funded by the William Butterworth Foundation, manager of both Butterworth Center, 1105 8 Street, Moline, IL 61265, and Deere-Wiman House, 817 11 Avenue, Moline 61265. No charge for admission. For more information, call (309) 743-2701, or go to butterworthcenter.com.
