DAVENPORT, IOWA (October 3, 2022) The Iowa Business Council (IBC) will hold a Vision to Vitality forum with Quad Cities area business leaders on Tuesday, October 4, 3:30–5:00PM, at the Eastern Iowa Community College Urban Campus.  The forum will be cohosted by John Deere Vice President Jerred Pauwels.

The Vision to Vitality forum will discuss cultivating the workforce pipeline and proactive steps leaders can take to grow thriving communities that attract and retain talent. Pauwels will give an update on John Deere workforce and community advancement efforts. IBC Executive Director Joe Murphy will follow with a presentation of the IBC’s annual Competitive Dashboard, which benchmarks Iowa against the rest of the country on a number of important economic indicators. After his presentation, a panel will be convened with local leaders. Panelists for the Quad Cities Vision to Vitality event include:

  • Ellen Bluth  Vice Chancellor for Workforce and Economic Development, EICC
  • Chris Caves  Vice President of Business and Economic Growth, Quad Cities Chamber
  • Jerred Pauwels  Vice President, John Deere
  • Cory Satterfield  Vice President & Director of Quad Cities, Shive-Hattery

The Vision to Vitality forum will conclude with an audience Q&A. Panelist comments and audience feedback is used to help instruct Iowa Business Council policy and priority initiatives.

Vision to Vitality forums are held across the state to produce candid discussions between IBC members and local community leaders about Iowa’s economy and best practices for future growth. Ultimately, these efforts foster statewide collaboration and strengthen Iowa businesses.
