The World Kum Do Association announced that the 2010 WKA Midwest Open Kum Do Championships are scheduled for Saturday, September 11, 2010. Kum Do is the modern martial art of fencing, the Korean equivalent of Japanese Kendo. Visitors from around the region and across the country will be competing, including teams from Chicago, Denver, Houston, Ames, Iowa City, and Madison. The event will include structured training, tournament competition, and Black Belt testing. The schedule is as follows:

Thursday, September 9, 5:15pm - Press Conference at the Figge Art Museum, 225 W. 2nd St. Davenport IA.

Saturday, September 11, 9-10:30am - Training; 10:30am-3:30pm - Kum Do Tournament; 3:30pm-5:00pm - Kum Do Tournament; all Saturday events will be held in the Lower Gym at Black Hawk College, Moline IL.  There is free admission.
