MOLINE, Illinois (March 8th, 2017)—Bent River Brewing Company will commence its celebration of twenty years in Moline with an in-house, three-day party on March 15th, 16th and 17th, 2017, at its Moline Brew Pub (only).
Bent River Brewing Company was conceived by Tim Koster of Koski Home Brew Fixen's Ltd.. In April 1993, Koski Home Brew Fixen's opened its storefront in downtown Moline. In the fall of 1996, the official ‘Bent River’ bar opened to the public, but without brewing equipment, in that location. It would be a couple of years before the first keg of Bent River’s American Pale Ale flowed from the beautiful, Bohemian Brau Haus copper kettles.
In 2009, local restaurateur and long-time patron of Bent River Brewing Co., Joel Krogman, joined the team to expand and protect its brewing traditions and transform the Moline location into a fully-operational, top-notch brew pub complete with a full bar, restaurant—for lunch and dinner—and a big outdoor patio.
Located in the heart of the National Registered Historic District of Moline, Illinois, the turn-of-the-century building, with its decorative stone arches, is a leader in the rejuvenation campaign spearheaded by the Moline Centre Main Street organization. To perpetuate the restorative visions of the Moline community, the brew pub's facade was renovated to enhance its brick—styled after the Italian Renaissance—while retaining its handsome, architectural aesthetics and structural integrity.
And exclusively for ‘community’ does it proudly brew its craft beer—like the one and only Uncommon Stout and the break-out hit, Undercurrent IPA—and serve up unique dishes and its own Uncommon Sunday Brunches with unwavering consistency and to the highest standards set forth by craft-brewing- and restaurant industries.
“The multiple opportunities to enjoy Bent River in multiple stages of life,” reminisced by Sophia Aley, current Director of Marketing & Advertising, “have created one of the most unanticipated joys of my life. Its walls contained us college kids and our college-type good times well over a decade ago—and now I am able to support its walls from a fan’s and employee’s perspective. Who wouldn’t like THAT job?” Similarly, the generations of fans who grew up in the vicinity of the Bent River craft brewers and its newer fan base will get to enjoy the celebration which will be rivaled by no other business in the QCA: Guest bartenders and nostalgic artwork of Bent River’s past, roll-back prices on beer, Irish food specials and unique, small-batch beers like the Oaked Irish Stout and Tim and Rich’s Irish Ale—which is named after both the founder and original brewer of Bent River—and merchandise giveaways, all culminating on St. Patrick’s Day, will guarantee a fantastic kick-off to the year-long celebration for anyone who comes through the doors hungry or thirsty.
